Method for simple production of an instrument spring optimized in terms of cleaning

A medical-technical instrument includes a first instrument branch, a second instrument branch, and a bearing element coupling the instrument branches in a superimposed closure. The branches contact each other in a closure portion in an operation pivot region via mutually facing contact surfaces so that the branches in the operation pivot region contact each other with their respective contact surfaces, and the branches are positionable in a cleaning position outside the operation pivot region. The bearing element is fixed at an end portion on the first instrument branch and has a head widening conically in a continuous or stepped manner. The head penetrates a continuously or stepped conical passage opening in the second instrument branch. The passage opening is an elongated hole, and the bearing element is rotatably positionable in the elongated hole and translationally fixedly received.

A surgical device for stabilizing tissue or positioning organs, or for positioning and holding surgical instruments and devices during a surgical intervention, includes a main body and a flexible arm. The flexible arm can be fastened to the main body, which can be brought into different positions and/or locations and which can be locked in a desired positioning by a tightening mechanism. The tightening mechanism can be tightened and/or released self-actingly and/or by an energy source. In a locked state of the flexible arm, the tightening mechanism has a retightening reserve, and the flexible arm can be automatically retightened in order to maintain its locked state, in particular by an introduction of energy from the energy source or self-actingly, by utilization of the retightening reserve. A retightening mechanism for use in the surgical device automatically retightens a flexible arm when in a locked state to maintain its locked state.

A retractor features at least two retractor arms whose proximal end portions are fixed or integrally formed on opposite ends of a crossbar for adjusting the distance between the retractor arms, and a drive unit whose case is mounted on the crossbar and whose gearing is in operative connection with a length adjustment mechanism to be operated by a separate actuation element which can be brought into engagement with a gearing input element movably inserted in the case. The gearing input element is accessible on at least one outer side of the casing. The gearing input element is designed such that it is substantially flush with the case's outer side or is recessed into the case interior. It has its exposed side provided with recesses, at least one of which has an undercut which enters a manually detachable latching engagement with a force transmission protrusion of the actuation element.

A surgical device for stabilizing or immobilizing moved tissue or for positioning organs, especially a part of a beating heart, includes a flexible arm, especially a link arm, fixed or fixable to a base member which arm can be brought into different positions and/or attitudes and at the free end of which at least one retaining element is arranged, and comprising a tightening mechanism by which the arm can be fixed at a desired position. The invention relates to a surgical retractor, in particular, for spreading a severed sternum, comprising a first retaining device and a second retaining device, which each have a spreader arm with at least one retaining element held thereon, a holding device for holding the retaining devices on each other, and a drive device with which the distance of the spreader arms from each other along a retraction direction is alterable for transfer to a spread position. In order to provide a retractor of this kind which, having a compact design, is easy to handle, it is proposed in accordance with the invention that the retaining devices each have a holding arm connected to the respective spreader arm, and both holding arms couple with the drive device and be displaceable via the drive device relative to each other and relative to the holding device along a displacement direction.

An adapter device for detachably fastening instruments and equipment to a side rail of an operating table includes a clamping device by means of which the adapter device can be clamped to the side rail of the operating table, a longitudinal profile onto which the instruments and equipment can be detachably fastened, and a joint having at least one pivot axis formed between the clamping device and the longitudinal profile so that the longitudinal profile is pivotable relative to the clamping device about the pivot axis of the joint.

A surgical positioning instrument for supporting and holding organs includes a preferably concave bearing portion and a supporting portion substantially rearward with respect to the bearing portion. Via the bearing portion an organ which is to be positioned can be received and via the supporting portion the surgical positioning instrument can be supported at an environment of the organ. Further, at least the bearing portion partly simulates a surface of the organ to be supported and is designed to be dimensionally stable.

The invention relates to a surgical retractor, particularly for the retraction of a separated sternum, with a holding device and two spreader arms, wherein the spreader arms are mounted with one end on the holding device, at a distance from each other that is adjustable in a spreading plane, and at least two retaining elements for retention of bone material, for example of the separated sternum, are arranged on each of the spreader arms. To develop this retractor for sternotomy in such a way as to permit gentler opening of the separated sternum, it is proposed that at least one of the retaining elements is mounted such that its position can be modified in the retraction direction with respect to that end of the spreader arm mounted on the holding device.
