A suction pipe assembly for dewatering a web in a papermaking machine includes a rotating pipe supporting suction cover and attached to a frame by a bearing sleeve. Support members extend form the bearing sleeve to the pipe without obstructing the flow of air through the pipe.

A tubular or cylindrical filter structure consists of a plurality of ring-shaped elements disposed in stacked relation by connecting rods and supporting a filtering media. The filtering media is disposed inside or outside the ring-shaped elements, depending on the direction of fluid flow therethrough. The ring-shaped elements protect the filtering media from tensile or compressive forces generated by the fluid flow, and at the same time present an open structure.

A vacuum controller for controlling the vacuum at a controlled vacuum which includes a balanced piston arrangement coupled to a valve piston reciprocal with respet to a valve seat positioned between the controlled vacuum and a high header or source vacuum. A throttling of the header vacuum takes place across the space between the valve piston and valve seat and is such that the header vacuum does not influence the movement of the valve piston.

A motorized shower head mechanism is disclosed in which a housing is provided with a track and a trolley, and a motor mounted on the trolley. The trolley is moved along the track by the motor and a shower head which extends through the housing is carried along by the trolley.

Mechanism for moving a shower nozzle in a paper making machine

An electro-mechanical oscillator has a DC motor with an output shaft coupled to a ball screw. A ball nut riding on the ball screw is coupled to an output sleeve which moves linearly with the ball nut. When the ball nut reaches one of two extreme positions its direction of movement is reversed by reversing the polarity of the voltage supplied to the motor. A control board is provided for monitoring the position of the ball nut, for reversing the motor and for controlling the speed of the motion.
