A lifting and jacking apparatus including a void former configured for embedment in a concrete slab before pouring of the concrete slab and a lifting bail removably insertable in and securely attachable to the void former. The void former includes a built in jacking screw configured to assist in adjusting the height of the concrete slab.

Lifting and jacking apparatus

A lifting system for a concrete component comprises a void former incorporated into the component during casting and which provides within the component a void which receives a locking pin of a lifting anchor assembly which is locked within the void by rotation of a locking pin. The lifting anchor assembly has a visual indicator to indicate when the pin is in its locked condition within the void, and a pivotal lifting shackle of the assembly is prevented from movement into a position in which lifting can take place until the pin is in its locked condition. Preferably a base of the void former is configured to retain components of a jacking system by which a concrete slab used for road repair can be jacked into a level configuration with the remainder of the roadway when it has been positioned by use of the lifting system.

Various embodiments of the present disclosure provide a load transfer plate including a non-symmetrically shaped body having a semi-cylindrical first portion configured to protrude into and be secured in the first cast-in-place concrete slab and a non-semi cylindrical second portion configured to protrude into a load transfer plate pocket secured in the second cast-in-place concrete.

The method includes positioning the joint edge assembly in an offset position from the joint. Various embodiments of the present disclosure provide a curb wall forming apparatus and method for forming a curb wall without causing damage to the adjacent concrete floor. In various embodiments, the curb wall forming apparatus includes one or more floor plates, one or more curb side wall forming panel supports, one or more stanchions, one or more end plates, one or more wall attachment plates, and one or more curb side wall forming panels which are used together to enable a curb wall to be formed. These components can be used together to enable a curb wall to be formed on a floor adjacent to an upstanding wall without causing damage to the wall or the area of the floor adjacent to the formed curb wall. The floor plates, the curb side wall forming panel supports, the stanchions, the end plates, and the wall attachment plates remain as part of the formed curb wall.

A formwork system for use in slip form casting central cores of high rise buildings provides a rebate form for a rebate at the level of each floor slab which is subsequently to be cast. The rebate form is designed to carry ferrules to be cast into the core at the level of the rebate to provide anchoring points for incorporation of reinforcement associated with the floor slab. The ferrules are carried from the rebate form via plugs which are stripped from the ferrules after casting when the rebate form and main slip form to which it is attached is withdrawn.
