In a locking system for a rotating foot of a mast, particularly of a mast for a free arm standing parasol, the mast is rotatable about an axis of rotation (A) defined by the rotating foot and includes a surrounded mast region. The locking system includes an operating lever for releasing or locking of the rotating foot which is arranged on the mast at a comfort height (H) of 0.5 to 1.5 m above the rotating foot, wherein the operating lever is movable between a folded-out position and a downwardly folded-in position and thereby cooperates via a lifting bar with stationary engaging elements of the rotating foot, wherein the lifting bar is raised in the release position and lowered in the locking position. To improve operability and operational security, the lifting bar is arranged at a distance from the axis of rotation (A) and externally of the surrounded mast region.

A movable standing base for parasols, display boards, flagpoles and the like comprises a weight part having, firmly attached at the bottom side thereof, at least three, preferably four steering rollers, and it further comprises attachment elements for a parasol, for a display board, for a flagpole or for any other objects to be set up, and a plurality of preferably four lowerable blocking feet. In order to improve ease of handling without loss of stability, the blocking feet are connected to each other in the edge region of the weight part by two bridge girders arranged opposite to each other and a middle yoke and are anchored to the weight part in a substantially parallelogram shaped lowerable manner by two pivot levers. A tensioning lever is disposed resting on the middle yoke, and a pressure element leads to a blocking pedal at the upper side of the standing base.

In order to improve a free-standing parasol, particularly a large parasol, in which canopy rods of a canopy are supported through supporting struts on an accommodating collar () of a slider (), which, with the canopy open, can be latched to a parasol pole () through a releasable pawl () and a catch (), wherein the pawl () is arranged on a tilting lever (), it is proposed that the tilting lever () be surrounded by a housing () that comprises bearings () for the hinge pin (). The tilting lever () itself has an operating button (). The housing () comprises an aperture (), through which the the operating button is made accessible. The hinge pin () of the tilting lever () is oriented transversely to the longitudinal axis () of the parasol pole () and the hinge pin () is closer to the longitudinal axis () of the parasol pole () than the pawl ().
