A seat belt structure for a center seat of a vehicle is disclosed. The seat belt structure includes a safety belt webbing mounted to a first side of the seat portion and extending to a first end of the back portion and a buckle mounted to a second side of the seat portion. A tongue is movably connected to the safety belt webbing and is adapted to couple with the buckle to restraint an occupant of the central seat. The seat belt structure also includes a grab structure adapted to be held by the occupant. The safety belt webbing defines a lap belt portion adapted to traverse a lap of the occupant, and a shoulder belt portion adapted to extend diagonally across an upper torso of the occupant, when the tongue is engaged with the buckle. The grab structure is engaged with the lap belt portion.

A frame and sunshade assembly for a vehicle having a passenger space configured in a side-by-side seating arrangement can include a plurality of frame members connected together to define an area above the passenger space when the frame members are mounted on the vehicle, a flexible panel extending along the area, and a plurality of anchors connected to the flexible panel. Each of the anchors can be mounted onto a respective one of the frame members. The anchors can include a first flexible strap, a second elastic strap, a pair of D-ring assemblies, and a fourth elastic strap.

The removable frame assembly can include a tubular frame member extending along the rear end of the fixed frame assembly, and can be configured to deform in a predictable and predetermined controlled manner if a load or kinetic energy input to the tubular frame member is greater than a first predetermined threshold. The bracket can be connected to the tubular member and the rear frame member, and the bracket can be configured to deform in a predictable and predetermined controlled manner if a load or kinetic energy input to the bracket is greater than a second predetermined threshold.

A utility vehicle includes a cargo bed extending rearward of a vehicle seat where a front wall of the cargo bed is adjacent to the rearward side of the vehicle seat. The front wall of the cargo bed includes a handle and the front wall of the cargo bed is removable from the utility vehicle with at least a first connection, a second connection, and a third connection to allow access to the air cleaner once the front wall of the cargo bed is removed.

The disclosure provides a roofing system suitable for off-road vehicles. The roofing system includes a front panel that connects to a front, first lateral member of a roll cage of the vehicle and extends rearward over a front passenger seat to a rearward, second lateral member of the roll cage. The roofing system includes a rear panel that overlaps and connects to the front panel at a lateral seam including a channel and a seal between the front panel and the rear panel. The same front panel may be used on multiple models of vehicle. The rear panel may be sized according to the model of the vehicle. When different rear panels are used, each rear panel may include the same features along a front edge for forming a seam with the common front panel.

An air intake system for a motor vehicle is disclosed. The motor vehicle has a frame and a body on the frame. The frame and the body define a passenger cabin and an engine compartment longitudinally rearward of the passenger cabin. A firewall separates the passenger cabin and the engine compartment. An engine is attached to the frame in the engine compartment, and wheels are driven by the engine. The air intake system includes an air intake snorkel for providing air to the engine, a first vent in the body for directing air to the air intake snorkel, a second vent in the body for directing air to the air intake snorkel, a flexible member installed around the air intake snorkel for isolating the air intake snorkel from the engine compartment, and a compartment floor isolating the air intake snorkel from the wheels.

A retractor assembly can be configured to enable length adjustment of the upper body strips if the load is below a certain threshold level.

Methods and apparatus for restraining vehicular passengers

Some embodiments are directed to a vehicle bed system for use with a vehicle that includes a cargo compartment, a tail light, a tail light cover, and a fender. The vehicle bed system can include a bed bottom that defines a bottom surface of the vehicle cargo compartment, and a pair of bed sidewalls that are disposed at opposite sides of the bed bottom. Connectors can directly connect each of the fender, tail light, and tail light cover to one of the bed sidewalls.

Methods and apparatus for supporting vehicle components

Some embodiments are directed to a vehicular door assembly that includes a door that is movable between the open and closed positions, and a window panel assembly that includes interior member, a frame member surrounding the interior member, and a plurality of connector assemblies. A interior member mount assembly includes a bracket, a spring guide, and a spring. The bracket includes a base portion rigidly connected to the door, and a flange portion that defines an aperture and that extends at an angle relative to the base portion. The spring guide is movable within the aperture. A first end of the spring is connected to the bracket, and a second end of the spring is connected to the spring guide. The spring guide is connected to one of the plurality of connector assemblies, such that the spring guide is movable within the aperture as the door moves between open and closed positions.

Vehicular door assembly and methods of use and manufacture thereof

Some embodiments are directed to a vehicular seat adjustment mechanism for facilitating positional adjustments of a vehicular seat along a longitudinal direction of a vehicle. The vehicular seat adjustment mechanism includes a pair of rails that extend substantially parallel to a longitudinal direction of the vehicle. Each of the rails defines an opening that faces a lower surface of the vehicle. A pair of support legs are configured to be secured to a vehicular frame. Each of the support legs is secured to and supports one of the rails. A mounting plate supports the vehicular seat and is configured to be movable along the pair of rails. A pair of supports are each secured to one of the rails and configured to support the mounting plate and facilitate longitudinal movement of the mounting plate along the rails.
