A method and user equipment are provided, in which an indication that a cell in a carrier frequency supports a 2-step random access procedure is received. A physical random access channel preamble is transmitted on a first time-frequency resource. A physical uplink channel carrying data is transmitted, where the physical uplink channel carrying the data is associated with the transmitted physical random access channel preamble. In response to the transmitted physical random access channel preamble and the transmitted physical uplink channel carrying the data, a user equipment specific channel is received within a random access response window The data includes a user equipment identity.

Method and apparatus for performing contention based random access in a carrier frequency

A method and apparatus provide for low latency transmissions. A higher layer configuration message can be received that indicates a set of resource blocks for receiving data packets in at least one symbol of a subframe. An attempt can be made to decode a data packet in a first set of resource elements within the set of resource blocks. The first set of resource elements can be in the at least one symbol of the subframe. An attempt can be made to decode the data packet in at least a second set of resource elements within the set of resource blocks. The second set of resource elements can be in the at least one symbol of the subframe. The second set of resource elements can include at least one resource element that is not in the first set of resource elements. The data packet in one of the first set of resource elements and the second set of resource elements can be successfully decoded. A data payload of the decoded data packet can be delivered to an application layer.

Method and apparatus for low latency transmissions

A radio resource control message comprising an indication of a random access channel preamble, a reference signal resource, or both can be received. A reference signal can be received on the reference signal resource. A random access channel preamble can be selected based at least in part on the reference signal satisfying a threshold. Apparatuses, methods, and systems are disclosed for synchronization signal block selection. One method includes receiving multiple synchronization signal blocks on a first wideband carrier. Each synchronization signal block includes at least one synchronization signal and a physical broadcast channel. The method includes detecting at least one synchronization signal block of the synchronization signal blocks, determining at least one synchronization signal frequency associated with the at least one detected synchronization signal block, and selecting a first synchronization signal block of the at least one detected synchronization signal block and a first synchronization signal frequency of the at least one synchronization signal frequency. The first synchronization signal block is associated with the first synchronization signal frequency. The method includes decoding a first physical broadcast channel of the first synchronization signal block, and determining whether to reselect the first synchronization signal block based on a result of decoding the first physical broadcast channel.

The present application relates to method and apparatus for resource allocation on unlicensed spectrum. One embodiment of the present disclosure provides a method comprising: receiving a Downlink Control Information (DCI) assigning frequency resources of a carrier for transmitting data on the carrier, wherein the frequency resources include a first set of Physical Resource Blocks (PRBs) and a second set of PRBs and the frequency resources span over a predefined percentage of a bandwidth of the carrier, and the bandwidth of the carrier is greater than 20 MHz; and transmitting the data on the first set of PRBs and the second set of PRBs.

At least one uplink resource to transmit the generated CSI report can be determined. The at least one uplink resource can be determined based on the number of repeated PDSCH transmissions. The generated CSI report can be transmitted in the determined at least one uplink resource.
