Embodiments herein relate to a polymer film comprising an anti-blushing composition in a blend comprising polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and polybutylene terephthalate (PBT); wherein the blend contains at least 50 wt. % of PBT; wherein the anti-blushing composition comprises a phosphorus containing compound but excludes certain phosphorus compounds; and wherein the anti-blushing composition is configured to prevent blushing in the polymer film laminated directly to a metal substrate sheet and exposed to steam at a temperature of 260&#xb0; F. for 90 minutes.

Anti-blush and chemical resistant polyester film

Embodiments herein relate to a polymer film comprising an anti-blushing composition in a blend comprising polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and polybutylene terephthalate (PBT); wherein the blend has an intrinsic viscosity above 0.75 and contains at least 50 wt. % of PBT; wherein the anti-blushing composition comprises a phosphorus containing compound but excludes certain phosphorus compounds; and wherein the anti-blushing composition is configured to prevent blushing in the polymer film laminated directly to a metal sheet and exposed to steam at a temperature of 260&#xb0; F. for 90 minutes.

Biaxially oriented film and metal laminate composite thereof useful for manufacturing food containers with good resistance to blushing during steam sterilization, comprising a blend of PBT and PET and also incorporating color pigment comprising polar functional groups. The films possess improve resistance to trans-esterification during melt processing, resulting in enhanced crystallinity levels present in the laminated film which leads to little or no blush discoloration during steam sterilization.

Blush-resistant film including pigments

Described are stretchable and formable lighter than air balloons including a high barrier lamination. The stretchable and formable balloons stretch when overinflated instead of failing. The balloons are formed from a lamination including a polyester film with a total thickness of 4 &#x3bc;m to 12 &#x3bc;m including a biaxially oriented polyester core layer and at least one amorphous copolyester skin layer. The polyester film has an Elongation % in the transverse direction (TD) or machine direction (MD) of greater than 125%.
