The artificial firelogs of this invention provide a natural visual and audible sensation so that the artificial firelogs have both a soothing flickering flame and a crackling or popping sound normally observed only with natural wood logs. The crackling additive can be mustard seeds, sesame seeds and synthetic hollow spheres.

The instant invention generally relates to absorbents containing effective odor absorbing amounts of activated carbon. The activated carbon-containing absorbents may also be formed in conjunction with a wide variety of adsorbent materials including bentonite, opaline silica and the like and are suitable for use as absorbents in a wide variety of absorbent application and are particularly well suited for use as animal litters. Such absorbent may also contain fluoropolymer dedusting agents and bactericides to form unique absorbent compositions with diverse properties and uses.

An interlocking closure fastening device comprising an omega-shaped closure element and a co-acting closure element having a trident profile configuration. The co-acting closure element has a profile portion comprising three generally parallel arm portions. The first arm portion terminates in a hook portion, the second arm portion is a generally straight structure having at least one enlarged portion located anterior to its extremity, and the third arm portion terminates in a funnel portion. The closure device is adapted for use with reclosable plastic freezer storage and cooking bags to provide drip-proof and leak-proof seals.

A process and apparatus for producing integral interlocking closure film stock useful in making reclosable containers by extruding a film of molten thermoplastic material onto a casting roll, extruding closure elements to contact and join said film at a point between about one inch and about five inches prior to the tangency line of the film on the periphery of the casting roll, partially cooling the closure elements with liquid coolant starting anywhere within the region between the closure element extrusion exits, and the tangency line of a film of molten thermoplastic material and the periphery of the casting roll, and further cooling the closure elements by directing them past additional cooling assemblies. Stripping means are employed to remove liquid coolant from the cooled integral interlocking closure film stock material produced.
