A pressure sensor includes a Wheatstone bridge circuit including a first resistor, a second resistor, a third resistor, and a fourth resistor having matching output characteristics. The pressure sensor further includes a first trim resistor in series with the Wheatstone bridge circuit, wherein the first trim resistor has output characteristics matching the output characteristics of the first resistor, the second resistor, the third resistor, and the fourth resistor of the Wheatstone bridge. The pressure sensor additionally includes a second trim resistor in parallel or a parallel loop with the Wheatstone bridge circuit, wherein the second trim resistor has output characteristics matching the output characteristics of the first resistor, the second resistor, the third resistor, and the fourth resistor of the Wheatstone bridge.

Pressure sensor with trim resistors

A differential pressure sensor is a body with first and second interior channels connected to process fluid inlets and separated by a barrier. Each side of a MEMS pressure sensing diaphragm in the barrier is fluidly connected to a process fluid inlet. The diaphragm is mounted on a hollow pedestal such that one side of the diaphragm is fluidly connected to a process fluid inlet through an interior channel in the pedestal that is adhesively attached to an annular bottom of a cylindrical cavity inside the body. The other side of the diaphragm is fluidly connected to the other process fluid inlet and is fluidly isolated from the first fluid inlet by the adhesive at the bottom of the pedestal. Deformation of the diaphragm due to a pressure difference between the process fluid inlets detected by sensors on the diaphragm indicates a differential pressure.

Optimized epoxy die attach geometry for MEMS die

A sensor package includes a manifold and a MEMS die. The manifold includes a cylindrical body, a flange, and a mounting surface. The cylindrical body defines a first passage that extends longitudinally along a central axis from a first exterior end to an interior end of the cylindrical body. The flange extends from the cylindrical body and has an outer periphery that is configured to support a print circuit board. The mounting surface is disposed at the interior end of the first passage. The surface area of the mounting surface is less than the surface area of a MEMS die configured to mate with the mounting surface.

Pressure sensor package with stress isolation features

A method of mounting in-plane sensors of an inertial measurement unit. The method includes the steps of: providing a structure having first and second planar surfaces oriented orthogonally to one another, positioning a plurality of sensors on the first planar surface such that each of the sensors has a sense axis extending parallel to the first planar surface, positioning at least one other sensor on the second planar surface such that the at lease one other sensor has a sense axis extending parallel to the second planar surface, and orienting the sensors on the first and second surfaces so that the angles formed between any two sense axes are equal.

Inertial measurement unit and method of constructing the same using two orthogonal surfaces

An inertial measurement system having a triangular cupola shaped base structure with three mutually orthogonal sides and a bottom surface surrounding a hollow core. The bottom surface includes an aperture providing access to the hollow core. An inertial module is mounted on each of the sides and includes a gyroscopic rotational rate sensor and a linear accelerometer connected to a circuit board. The inertial measurement system also includes a motherboard and a plurality of metallization elements. The metallization elements extend from the bottom surface to the sides of the base structure and conductively connect the inertial module to the motherboard. The inertial measurement system may also include a non-conductive adhesive underfill positioned between the inertial module and the base structure.
