A method for tracking the activity of animals confined in a facility including at least one cage, a plurality of antennae arranged underneath the at least one cage, an RFID reader to which the plurality of antennae are connected, a computer capable of controlling transmission and reception by the RFID reader, and an RFID tag to be fitted to an animal confined in the cage, the method including that the following steps are carried out:—the animal is fitted with the tag,—the RFID reader generates the transmission of an electromagnetic wave at the plurality of antennae,—the RFID reader identifies which antenna(e) has/have received the response transmitted by the tag,—the computer analyses over a given period which antennae have received a signal transmitted by the tag, thus determining the consecutive positions of the animal.

Antenna system comprising at least two radiating elements, a first line for neutralizing electromagnetic coupling between the at least two radiating elements, at least one radiofrequency power supply line for each radiating element and at least one short-circuiting line to a ground plane of the antenna system per radiating element, characterized in that the antenna system further comprises: at least one second line for neutralizing electromagnetic coupling between said at least two radiating elements; elements for activating at least some of the neutralization lines; and in that the activation elements are configured to selectively activate or deactivate at least some of the neutralization lines, in such a way that depending on the activation/deactivation thereof the neutralization lines provide a maximum neutralization of the electromagnetic coupling of the radiating elements for a plurality of different frequencies.

A device for identifying an electrical appliance when it is powered up includes a current detector coupled to an electrical power supply cable of the electrical appliance, for detecting the passage of an electrical current in the cable and generating an electrical signal. A voltage generator converts the electrical signal at the output of the current detector into a direct voltage. An RFID circuit stores identification information, coupled to an antenna suitable for receiving and transmitting signals from and to an RFID reader. The device includes a control circuit coupled to the voltage generator and to the RFID circuit, the control circuit configured for producing a change of impedance of the antenna when the direct voltage is applied, the change of impedance allowing to transmit the identification information to the RFID reader.

An alarm device comprises an RFID circuit that is configured to store identification information and is coupled to an antenna designed to receive and to emit, from and to an RFID reader, signals at the frequency of the RFID reader, and a switch coupled to the antenna and able to be activated by a user, enabling the antenna to be matched to the frequency of the RFID reader. The alarm device comprises the RFID circuit, the antenna and the switch designed to be incorporated into an object worn by a user, and enable the alarm to be activated discreetly.

A remotely interrogatable passive sensor is provided. The sensor comprises an antenna and at least one surface wave resonator including a transducer with inter-digitated electrodes with two ports on the surface of a piezoelectric substrate, in which the antenna comprises conducting elements connected to the two ports and integrated onto said piezoelectric substrate. Advantageously, the antenna elements are folded on the substrate to enhance compactness. The passive sensor can be used for medical applications such as tissue analysis or arterial pressure measurement.

The present invention provides a multiband antenna () comprising: a plane type ground element (); a plane type 'lower' active radiating element () including at least one 'lower' slot (); a plane type &#x201c;upper&#x201d; active radiating element () including at least one &#x201c;upper&#x201d; slot (); a first short circuit element () electrically connecting said lower element to said upper element; a second short circuit element () also connecting said lower element to said ground element; a primary signal source (); a &#x201c;lower&#x201d; thin sheet () of a first dielectric material; and an &#x201c;upper&#x201d; thin sheet () of a second dielectric material. The antenna also has a third short circuit element () electrically connecting said lower element and said ground element, and at least one lower slot and at least one upper slot are radiating slots.
