The invention comprises distribution point unit (DPU) including a host for a GPON ONU/ONT module, CPU system-on-chip (SoC) providing a DPU and traffic management, a reverse power harvester and a high speed electrical (HSE) module and the DPU receiving optical signals via the GPON ONU/ONT module and converting to electrical signals and the HSE module transmitting electrical signals via a twisted pair or coaxial cable to a customer premises equipment (CPE) within a home or building and the reverse power harvester receiving power from the HSE module and the GPON ONU/ONT and HSE modules are pluggably mateable to the DPU.

A transceiver assembly is provided that includes a transceiver housing having first end, having a connector and an opposite second end having a passage in communication with a printed circuit board mounted in the housing. A peripheral connector having a first end and opposite second end includes a receptacle opening at the second end. A flex circuit is disposed between the first end of the peripheral connector and the second end of the transceiver housing. The peripheral connector is capable of being displaced with respect to the transceiver housing via the flex circuit.

The present invention provides a multi-channel transceiver module comprising a unitary housing having a first channel body and a second channel body. Each channel body includes a male plug end and a receptacle plug end. A bridge member is provided for joining the first and second bodies. The bridge members disposed at the receptacle end. A gap is provided between the plug ends of each channel body. The gap extends from each plug end to the bridge member to partially divide each channel so that each plug end is insertable within a separate receptacle cage.

Multi-channel tranceiver module

The present invention relates to a cage for thermal management and for housing an electronic module. The cage includes top, bottom and side walls joined to form an interior cavity. The side walls form an enclosure having a first panel. A thermally conductive pathway is disposed on the first panel. The enclosure receives an electronic device such as a transceiver module and a heat sink mounted on the first panel. The thermally conductive pathway is disposed between the electronic device and the heat sink so that heat from the electronic device is transmitted via the thermally conductive pathway to the heat sink.

The present invention pertains to an electrical transceiver module having a peripheral device connector to receive copper plugs having a profile equal to or larger than the outer profile of the standard module housing profile. An embodiment of the invention provides an RJ-45 receptacle as the peripheral device connector of an SFP (Small Form Factor Pluggable) transceiver. An embodiment of the invention provides a receptacle outer profile being larger than the main transceiver body outer profile in at least one dimension. An embodiment of the invention provides for a transceiver having a latch member and a latching point point disposed on a main body between a first end and a second end of the housing.

The present invention provides for a receptacle printed circuit board assembly having a reduced profile of the entire assembly where the receptacle has a board receiving portion that mounts at a cut-out edge of a printed circuit board so that the majority of the receptacle is mounted within a cut-out area of the printed circuit board recessed below the upper face of the printed circuit board so that the overall profile of the receptacle assembly is reduced. A shield flap or metallic hood is provided that helps to attach the receptacle to the printed circuit board and completely enclose the shielded portion of the receptacle.
