A method for updating a disc refiner by at least partly covering notches of a locknut in the disc refiner and an accessory for a disc refiner Said disc refiner comprising a motor and a rotation shaft assembly, wherein said rotation shaft assembly comprises a rotation shaft, which is connecting the motor and a rotor refiner disc of the disc refiner for driving rotation of the rotor refiner disc from the motor, said rotation shaft assembly further comprising at least one bearing, which is provided between a shaft housing and the rotation shaft for allowing rotation of the rotation shaft within the shaft housing, said rotation shaft assembly further comprising at least one ring-shaped locknut, which is encircling the rotation shaft and configured for holding the at least one bearing in place on the rotation shaft, said locknut comprising notches for a tool to grip when attaching the locknut in the rotation shaft assembly, wherein said accessory is configured for being attached to the locknut and comprises at least one covering part configured for at least partly covering said notches of the locknut when attached to the locknut.

Apparatus and associated methods relate to a storage system having a drawer supported, when extended from a housing, by a lid. In an illustrative example, the drawer may have a first engagement feature. The lid may, for example, have a second engagement feature. The housing may, for example, have a first slide configured to slidingly receive the drawer. The housing may, for example, have a second slide configured to slidingly receive the lid. In a support mode, for example, the lid may be disposed in the second slide beneath the drawer such that, when the drawer is slid out of the housing beyond a first distance, then the engagement features interact to extend the lid from the housing such that the lid supports at least a portion of a weight of the drawer. Various embodiments may advantageously provide a cost-effective, transportable, and/or modular storage system.

A hub and a member, the member having a central opening. The hub is received in the member central opening. The hub has a center, and a hub axis through the center. The hub also has a splined exterior with a plurality of splines, each spline having a spline surface, and the member central opening has internal splines that engage with the hub splined exterior. At least one of the hub splines has a wear indicator, the wear indicator comprising a surface mark that extends along a portion of the spline surface in the same direction as the hub axis.

A sharp extractor has a ram that is actuatable to move from a disengaged position to an engaged position to dislodge a sharp from a medical device, and then return back to the disengaged position. With the medical device secured in axial alignment with the ram, the actuator is actuated to move to its engaged position, whereupon the sharp is detached from the medical device. The dislodged sharp is channeled directly into a medical waste container. Upon removing the sharp from the medical device, the medical device can be treated as standard medical waste, thereby reducing the cost associated with disposal of the medical device. With the volume of the sharp being greatly reduced as a result of removal from the relatively bulky medical device, the frequency of having to dispose the sharps can be greatly reduced, thereby further reducing cost associated with the disposal of the sharps.
