Tracking database changes

Apparatus, systems, and methods may operate to receive a first command to display a selected portion of an electronic document, wherein the selected portion is indicated by a visible indicator in a selected segment of a segmented scroll bar having a dynamically compressible trough. Further activities may include sending a second command to display a document page having a page number corresponding to the visible indicator, wherein the trough comprises segments corresponding to the pages of the document. Apparatus, systems, and methods may operate to detect a position of an insertion point in an electronic document being presented in a graphical user interface and dynamically positioning a graphical user interface control to correspond to the position of the insertion point. Document comment management

Apparatus, systems, and methods may operate to present a comment object in an electronic document, receive an indication that the comment object is selected, determine content in the electronic document that corresponds with the selected comment object, and apply a mask to obscure portions of the content that do not correspond to the comment object. Comment presentation in electronic documents

Methods and apparatus for providing a document authoring application. A palette comprising a plurality of editing controls may be displayed within the canvas that is associated with an electronic document having an associated structure. The palette may be positioned within the canvas based at least in part on the associated structure of the electronic document. Responsive to selections of editing controls at the palette, documents objects may be added to the canvas. The palette may be repositioned within the canvas based at least in part on the structure associated with the electronic document.

System and method for adding items in a structured document

In one example embodiment, a system and method is illustrated that includes receiving input to execute a function associated with a display element of a Graphical User Interface (GUI), the display element to display edit history data relating to a displayed portion of structured data. The system and method also includes retrieving the edit history data for the displayed portion of the structured data based upon the function, the edit history data reflecting changes made to the displayed portion of the structured data. The system and method also includes displaying the edit history data in the GUI as part of the display element.

Tracking changes in a database tool

Method and system for conditionally transmitting changes to information in a collaborative environment are provided. A system comprises a display, a change tracking module, and a rendering module. The change tracking module is configured to detect changes by a modifying user to information as a propagating or a non-propagating change. The rendering module transmits first view data to enable altering a first view based on the modification as part of a graphical user interface on the display presented to the modifying user and transmits second view data to enable altering a second view presented to a group of users, not including the modifying user, based on the modification if the modification comprises the propagating change. The second view data is not transmitted if the modification comprises the non-propagating change.

Method and system for conditionally transmitting changes to information in a collaborative environment

In various embodiments, a computerized method includes presenting an electronic document to one user out of multiple users that have edit access to the electronic document as part of a collaborative editing of the electronic document. The computerized method may include receiving an input from the user to edit the electronic document, as well as invoking a lock to prevent edit access by the other users responsive to receiving the input from the user to edit the electronic document.

Shared edit access of electronic content

Apparatus, systems, and methods may operate to detect modifications made to information, the modifications received from a modifying user included in a group of users sharing the information by separately viewing presentations of the information. The presentations may have any number of views, such as a first view and at least a second view. Further actions may include transmitting first view data to enable altering the first view for the modifying user based on the modification made, whether the modification comprises a propagating change or a non-propagating change, and if the modification comprises a propagating change, transmitting second view data to enable altering at least the second view for at least some of the group of users, not including the modifying user, based on the modification. If the change is a non-propagating one, then the activity may include refraining from transmitting the second view data. Additional apparatus, systems, and methods are disclosed.

Collaborative editing operations

The present invention provides a comprehensive development platform and client-side technology for intelligent and cost-effective delivery of video, audio and broadband content over a network, such as the Internet, to desktop, mobile computing, and network connected devices. In one embodiment of the present invention, a content development environment provides a single tool for developing unified online and offline content. With the content development tool, the user interface of the offline content has a substantially similar appearance and behavior to the user interface presented by the online content. As such, the user interface for the both the online and offline content may be generated from a single user interface design. The content development tool generates and publishes a set of online content files and a set of offline content files from the single design. In some embodiments, the offline content is published to a web-site of a content provider as a download package to be automatically downloaded for local use by a client using other techniques of the present invention. In some cases, the content development tool automatically creates and configures a mechanism in the online content to download the corresponding and substantially similar offline content to the client. As such, a content provider may use a single development tool to create a consistent and desired user experience, including branding and interactive content, for both online and offline content.

Systems and methods for a single development tool of unified online and offline content providing a similar viewing experience

The present invention provides a comprehensive development platform and client-side technology for intelligent and cost-effective delivery of video, audio and broadband content over a network, such as the Internet, to desktop, mobile computing, and network connected devices. In one embodiment of the present invention, an intelligent delivery system (IDS) delivers offline content on a client that provides a user experience similar to corresponding content accessed via a network, such as content experienced by a user visiting a web-site on the Internet. Through a background delivery process, the IDS transparently provides offline content automatically to the client. A user may display online content via a browser the first time visiting a content provider, such as a web-site, and from thereafter, the IDS automatically provides a second application to display offline content downloaded from the content provider. The user interface provided by the offline content stored on the client has a substantially similar appearance and behavior to the user interface presented by the online content. Using the second application locally on the client, the user displays and experiences offline content substantially similar to and corresponding to portions of the online content communicated via the Internet. For example, the user may display in the second application a high-definition video from storage of the client in a user interface that is substantially similar to the user interface of the web-site for streaming video.
