An intelligent door lock system that permits both electronic and manual control of a deadbolt. The door lock system can include an inner bezel assembly, an outer bezel assembly, and a deadbolt assembly, where the deadbolt assembly can be coupled to the outer bezel assembly via a twist-lock feature. The inner bezel assembly also includes a puck assembly that seats within an inner bezel. The puck assembly can be retained within or released from the inner bezel via a latch assembly. The outer bezel assembly includes a display assembly that seats within an outer bezel. The outer bezel is coupled to a motor chassis assembly that includes a motor and gear assembly having a series of gears that translate movement of dial elements or a motor into movement of a bolt element between locked and unlocked positions.

Intelligent door lock system for use with a door assembly

Electronic devices are provided with ejectable component assemblies that can be substantially flush with the external surfaces of the housings of the devices, despite variations in their manufacture. The ejectable component assemblies may include connectors coupled to circuit boards of the devices, and trays that can be loaded with removable modules, inserted through openings in the housings of the devices, and into the connectors for functionally aligning the removable modules with the circuit boards. The ejectable component assemblies may also include ejectors coupled to the housings of the devices for ejecting the trays from the connectors and, thus, from the devices themselves.

Ejectable component assemblies in electronic devices

Systems and methods for monitoring and responding to forces influencing batteries of electronic devices are provided. One or more sensors may be provided at various positions within a battery assembly including one or more battery cells within an enclosure. In some embodiments, a sensor may be provided between a battery cell and a portion of the enclosure. In other embodiments, a sensor may be positioned between two adjacent cells in a stack. Each sensor may detect a force influencing a battery cell of the assembly. In some embodiments, the sensor may be a force sensing material having a conductance configured to vary based on the influencing force. In other embodiments, the sensor may be a contact sensor that detects when the influencing force moves two elements together.

Systems and methods for monitoring and responding to forces influencing a battery

An input device, such as a keyboard, includes one or more keys that each includes a keycap operable to move within an aperture of a frame to activate a switch and fabric disposed over the frame and keycap. A first region of the fabric is bonded to the keycap and a second region of the fabric is bonded to the frame. The first region may be an embossed region and the second region may be an unembossed region. The fabric may dampen sound from within the keyboard, such as noise related to movement of the keycap, activation of the switch, and so on. The fabric may also form a barrier that restricts passage of contaminants into the aperture and/or other portions of the input device.

A portable electronic device is described. This portable electronic device includes an external housing with a cavity defined by an edge. A keyboard, having a front surface and a back surface, is disposed in the cavity with the front surface facing the external housing. Moreover, a tray is disposed over the back surface of the keyboard, and is mechanically coupled to the external housing adjacent to the edge. Furthermore, battery cells are mechanically coupled to an opposite side of the tray from the back surface of the keyboard. The tray may allow the battery cells to be removed from the portable electronic device without damaging the keyboard. In addition, the tray may increase the compression strength and/or the bending strength of the portable electronic device.

Battery structure and integration

An accessory device for use with an electronic device is disclosed. The accessory device may include a cover configured to overlay an electronic device (or device) or fold to form a support structure for the electronic device. The cover may include an attachment feature that electrically couples with the device, and a keyboard foldable with respect to the cover. Further, the keyboard may include a retention feature designed to receive the attachment feature in a folded configuration of the cover. The accessory device may further include an electrically conductive fabric that folds with the cover. The accessory device may include an array of magnets throughout the attachment feature, the cover, and the keyboard. The magnets may be used to magnetically couple together 1) segments of the cover, 2) the cover and the keyboard assembly, 3) and/or the device with the cover.

Examples of computing devices including a processor, memory, and a display device housed within the same enclosure are described. In examples, the display device, which may include a cover glass, may be attached to the enclosure using a multilayer adhesive member, the multilayer adhesive including a first adhesive layer and a second adhesive layer disposed on opposite sides of a foam layer. The first and/or second adhesive layers may include two or more layers of a pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA), which may be separated using one or more adhesive carrier films. In examples, the first and/or second adhesive layers may include a low tack (e.g. removable) PSA for adhering to surfaces of the display and enclosure and for facilitation removal and re-workability of the adhesive joint.

A backlit keyboard including a reflective component. The backlit keyboard may include a top case forming a top portion of an exterior surface of the keyboard. The backlit keyboard may further include a set of keys positioned within the top case and a membrane positioned below the set of keys. The backlit keyboard may further include a light guide positioned below the membrane and a light source positioned on a portion of the light guide. The light source may be configured to emit light coupled into the light guide and emit stray light not coupled into the light guide. The backlit keyboard may further include a bottom case attached to the top case and forming a bottom portion of the exterior surface of the keyboard. Additionally, the backlit keyboard may include a reflector positioned on an interior surface of the bottom case below the light guide and separated from the light guide by a gap. In some embodiments, the reflector may be configured to redirect the stray light towards the set of keys and provide structural support for the light guide.
