An aspect provides a toy assembly comprising: a toy character; an enclosure including an enclosure biasing structure and positionable in a closed position to at least partially enclose the toy character; and a latch assembly including: a latching member; and a deformable member that deforms upon application of an electric current. The enclosure biasing structure is positioned to urge the enclosure towards an open position to expose the toy character. The latching member is movable between (i) a latched position in which the latching member is releasably engaged with a connecting member to hold the enclosure in the closed position, and (ii) an unlatched position in which the latching member is disengaged from the connecting member to permit the enclosure biasing structure to drive the enclosure towards the open position. Deformation of the deformable member causes the latching member to move from the latched position to the unlatched position.

An inflatable device is provided, and contains a body and a mouth. The mouth is positionable in an open position and a sealed position. The body includes a flexible body wall that defines an interior volume. The body defines at least one air flow path from the mouth through the interior volume. The air flow path has an air flow path axis and has a cross-sectional area. The body further includes at least one structural member that applies a force on the flexible body wall transversely outward from the axis so as to urge the flexible body wall towards a transversely expanded state. The body is movable between an axially collapsed state and an axially open state along at least a portion of the air flow path and is urged towards the axially expanded state by a force applied by at least one of: the at least one structural member, and air flow into the body through the mouth when the mouth is held in the open position.

Inflatable device and method of inflating same

A transformable structure reconfigurable between in-line and simulative configurations. Head beading, an anterior engaging bead, anterior appendage beading, a central bead, posterior appendage beading, a posterior engaging bead, and terminal beading are connected in series. The central bead has anterior and posterior cavities, and receivable portions of the engaging beads are respectively received in the cavities when the structure is in the simulative configuration. An elastic core passes through the beading, and the transformable structure can be reconfigured between in-line and simulative configurations by a relative twisting and untwisting of the components. The anterior and posterior engaging beads can be spherical, and the anterior and posterior cavities can be hemispherical. An anterior toroidal ring bead between the head beading and the anterior engagement bead and a posterior toroidal ring bead between the terminal beading and the posterior engaging bead facilitate selective repositioning of the head and terminal beading.

Transformable jewelry and decorative structures

A fishing lure, generally the size and shape of a bait fish such as a minnow, is equipped with a safety feature, whereby the lure comprises a hook, preferably positioned on the under surface corresponding to the bait fish's belly, and a spring-biased shell, pivotally connected to the body and positioned such that the shell shields the hook completely when the shell is in a first position and the lure is out of the water, and exposes the hook when the shell is in a second position while the lure is in water, thereby permitting the lure to be used for fishing while preventing injuries from mishandling.
