A method of scheduling assignment of resources to a plurality of applications includes: determining shares of the resources assigned to each application during a first period; determining shares of the resources assigned to each application during a second period that occurs after the first period; determining an imbalance value for each application that is based on a sum of the shares assigned to the corresponding application over both periods; and considering requests of the applications for resources in an order that depends on a result of comparing the imbalance values of the applications.

Multi-platform scheduler for permanent and transient applications

Methods, systems, and computer program products for cross-platform scheduling with fairness and platform-specific optimization are provided herein. A method includes determining dimensions of a set of containers in which multiple tasks associated with a request are to be executed; assigning each of the containers to a processing node on one of multiple platforms based on the dimensions of the given container, and to a platform owner selected from the multiple platforms based on a comparison of resource requirements of each of the multiple platforms and the dimensions of the given container; and generating container assignments across the set of containers by incorporating the assigned node of each container in the set of containers, the assigned platform owner of each container in the set of containers, one or more scheduling requirements of each of the platforms, one or more utilization objectives, and enforcing a sharing guarantee of each of the platforms.

Cross-platform scheduling with long-term fairness and platform-specific optimization

In some embodiments, a system may comprise a database and one or more servers. The database may, for example, store a plurality of content claims for previously evaluated data items, with each of the plurality of content claims being associated in the database with a corresponding stored digital fingerprint of a previously evaluated data item. The server(s) may, for example, be configured to receive a determined digital fingerprint of a data item from a client device on another network node, to submit a query to the database using the determined digital fingerprint as a primary key, and to transmit one or more content claims returned by the query to the client device. In some embodiments, the server(s) may be further configured to receive the content claim(s) and the digital fingerprint associated therewith from one or more computers on another network node, and to cause the received content claim(s) and digital fingerprint associated therewith to be stored in the database.

Claim based content reputation service

A system and method for extracting data from a protected region of memory loads at least a first part of extraction code into physical memory and, thereafter, activates a memory mapping facility that maps a real memory onto the physical memory and prevents programs from accessing a protected memory region of the physical memory. At least a second part of the extraction code is then loaded into the virtual memory utilizing the memory mapping facility. The extraction code is then executed to deactivate the memory mapping facility and to copy data from the protected memory region to a second physical memory region, such that reactivating the memory mapping facility will cause a real memory region to be mapped onto the second physical memory region.
