A user can customize (also referred to as train) an AI module, which includes any of a variety of machine learning systems. The AI module can be used by the device on which the AI module is trained or can be communicated to other devices in the same environment (e.g., the same home). The AI module can also be communicated in a secure and private manner to a device in another environment (e.g., another user's home). To do so, the AI module is encrypted and added to a blockchain, and the blockchain is communicated via a peer-to-peer network to the device in the other environment. The recipient of the blockchain can then decrypt the AI module and use the AI module in that other environment, including further training the AI module for use in that other environment.

Securely communicating and customizing artificial intelligence modules

A wearable device enables access to VPN endpoint devices for secure data communication and privacy for a computing device. The wearable device stores VPN configuration information for a user, which includes the user's VPN credentials for each of one or more remote VPN endpoint devices. When the wearable device is in close proximity to a computing device and is being worn by a user that is authenticated to at least one of the wearable device and the computing device, the wearable device communicates the configuration information to the computing device. The computing device can then use this VPN configuration information to establish a VPN connection to a VPN endpoint device.

The one or more processors apply obscured subject compensation content to the images at locations where the one or more portions of the subject are obscured, during the videoconference, and prior to the communication device transmitting the images to the at least one remote electronic device engaged in the videoconference.

A method in an electronic device designates, with one or more processors of the electronic device, at least one data item stored within a memory of the electronic device for storage in a plurality of remote electronic devices. The method encrypts, with the one or more processors, the at least one data item to create at least one encrypted data item. The method divides, with the one or more processors, the at least one encrypted data item into a plurality of encrypted subset data items. The method then delivers, with a communication device, at least a first encrypted subset data item from the plurality of encrypted subset data items to a first remote electronic device and at least a second subset data item from the plurality of encrypted subset data items to a second remote electronic device.

An electronic device comprises one or more sensors capturing media content while the electronic device is situated at a media content capture location. A user interface receives user input requesting transmission of the media content to another electronic device situated at another electronic device location. In aspects of shareable devices, a shareable device implements a device sharing module that can maintain an interactive session of a user on the shareable device. The shareable device can detect that the user has moved away from the shareable device during the interactive session, and obscure personalized content associated with the user who has moved away from the shareable device. The device sharing module is implemented to detect, without user input, a user condition indicative of an intent to end or share the interactive session. The device sharing module can determine a status of an executing application associated with the interactive session of the user. The device sharing module can then end or share the interactive session based on the detected user condition and the determined status of the application.

A method includes receiving a voice input via a microphone of an electronic device, and determining whether the voice input contains speech from an authorized user of the electronic device or speech from an unauthorized user. The method includes in response to determining that the voice input contains speech from the authorized user: determining whether the speech contains private speech or public speech; in response to determining that the speech contains private speech, processing the voice input through a local automatic speech recognition (ASR) engine within the electronic device, the local ASR engine converting the voice input from audio format to text format and outputting a text transcription of the private speech; and in response to determining that the speech does not contain private speech, forwarding the voice input through a communication interface associated with a network-connected external device for processing the voice input at the network-connected external device.

In implementations of photography environment control, an environment controller is a device that maintains a photography environment map of an environment in which images are captured as photographs. The photography environment map includes locations of fixed light sources that are usable to illuminate a subject for image capture in a region of the environment. The environment controller implements an imaging recommendation module that can determine optimal lighting for the image capture of the subject in the region of the environment. The environment controller can then control the fixed light sources used to adjust ambient lighting conditions of the region in the environment for the optimal lighting and the image capture of the subject. The environment controller can also initiate communication of imaging recommendations to a camera device in the environment for the image capture of the subject.

Photography environment control

In implementations of photography lighting control, a camera device includes a camera to capture an image of a subject in an environment. The camera device implements an image exposure module that can determine ambient lighting conditions of the environment, and discover fixed light sources that are usable to illuminate the subject for image capture in the environment. The image exposure module can determine optimal lighting for the image capture of the subject in the environment, as well as control one or more of the fixed light sources used to adjust the ambient lighting conditions of the environment for the optimal lighting and the image capture of the subject. The image exposure module can then initiate use of the controlled fixed light sources to capture the image of the subject.

Disclosed are devices and methods of an electronic device configured to adaptably process arbitrary conditions to provide a user options for initiating or activating a non-display electronic function of the device. A user is free to determine how to position or orient the device. To determine in real-time, arbitrary conditions of the device, the disclosed devices and methods of an electronic device include determining that the electronic device is at rest and then acquiring a reference in response to determining that the electronic device is at rest. In this way, the device may assume any position or orientation to acquire a reference. Subsequently, subtle movement of the electronic device relative to the acquired reference may be detected to initiate a non-display electronic function of the electronic device. The user therefore may make choices inconspicuously and privately as to which non-display electronic function to initiate.
