Compositions and methods of using such compositions to, for example, reduce the viscosity of treatment fluids are provided. In one embodiment, the methods include: providing a treatment fluid including a base fluid, a viscosifier, and a breaker system including a gel stabilizer; a delayed release oxidative breaker; and a delayed release enzyme breaker; and allowing the breaker system to reduce a viscosity of the treatment fluid.

Breaker systems for wellbore treatment operations for use at varying temperatures

Methods that include a method comprising providing a hydrocarbon-acid emulsion composition that comprises an acid phase, a hydrocarbon blend phase, and an emulsifying agent; and placing the hydrocarbon-acid emulsion composition in a subterranean formation. In some embodiments, the hydrocarbon blend phase comprises at least about 65% hydrocarbons having from six carbons (C) through eleven carbons (C). In other embodiments, the hydrocarbon blend phase has a flash point greater than about 100&#xb0; F. Additional methods are also provided.

Hydrocarbon-acid emulsion compositions and associated methods

Among other things, methods of treating a subterranean formation with gelled hydrocarbon fluids are provided. In certain embodiments, these methods comprise the steps of providing a gelled liquid hydrocarbon treatment fluid comprising a liquid hydrocarbon and a gelling agent that comprises a polyvalent metal salt of an organophosphonic acid ester or a polyvalent metal salt of an organophosphinic acid, and treating the subterranean formation with the gelled liquid hydrocarbon treatment fluid. The gelled liquid hydrocarbon treatment fluids of the present invention are suitable for use in subterranean treatment operations, such as subterranean stimulation and sand control treatments like fracturing and gravel packing, that may be carried out in subterranean formations for the production of hydrocarbons. The compositions and methods of the present invention also may be suitable, for example, to be used as plugging agents, well bore cleanup fluids, viscous sweep fluids, or insulating fluids to be used in associated methods.

Methods and compositions for treating subterranean formations with gelled hydrocarbon fluids

This invention relates to methods and compositions useful in treating crude sources, and more specifically, to methods and compositions useful in reducing the concentration of phosphorus in crude streams and hydrocarbon flowback fluids. In some embodiments, the present invention provides methods that include a method comprising: providing a crude stream or a hydrocarbon flowback fluid; optionally testing the crude stream or the hydrocarbon flowback fluid for total phosphorus content; optionally testing the crude stream or hydrocarbon flowback fluid for volatile phosphorus content; adding a solution comprising a trivalent metal ion to the crude stream or the hydrocarbon flowback fluid; adding a sufficient amount of a caustic solution to the crude stream or the hydrocarbon flowback fluid to raise the pH of the stream or the fluid to about 8 or more; allowing at least a plurality of precipitates to form; removing at least one precipitate; and forming a clean crude stream or a clean hydrocarbon flowback fluid.

Methods and compositions relating to the reduction of volatile phosphorus from crude

The present disclosure addressed apparatus and methods for forming an annular isolator in a borehole after installation of production tubing. Annular seal means are carried in or on production tubing as it is run into a borehole. In conjunction with expansion of the tubing, the seal is deployed to form an annular isolator. An inflatable element carried on the tubing may be inflated with a fluid carried in the tubing and forced into the inflatable element during expansion of the tubing. Reactive chemicals may be carried in the tubing and injected into the annulus to react with each other and ambient fluids to increase in volume and harden into an annular seal. An elastomeric sleeve, ring or band carried on the tubing may be expanded into contact with a borehole wall and may have its radial dimension increased in conjunction with tubing expansion to form an annular isolator.

The present invention relates to emulsion compositions and associated methods. More particularly, the present invention relates to gelled invert emulsion compositions and their associated methods of use and preparation. In one embodiment, the present invention provides a method of treating a portion of a subterranean formation comprising the steps of: providing a gelled invert emulsion composition that comprises an oleaginous continuous phase, a discontinuous phase, and a gelling agent; and treating a portion of the subterranean formation. The present invention also provides methods of increasing the viscosity of an invert emulsion composition, methods of making gelled invert emulsion compositions, methods of providing some degree of sand control to portions of subterranean formations, methods of fracturing a portion of a subterranean formation, and gelled invert emulsion compositions.

Gelled invert emulsion compositions comprising polyvalent metal salts of an organophosphonic acid ester or an organophosphinic acid and methods of use and manufacture

The present invention relates to gelled fluids and methods for using liquefied petroleum gas in subterranean operations. More particularly, the present invention relates to servicing fluids that comprise gelled liquefied petroleum gas or servicing fluids that comprise a conventional gelled hydrocarbon fluid with liquefied petroleum gas and methods of using such servicing fluids in subterranean formations. One embodiment of the present invention provides a method of treating a subterranean formation comprising the steps of providing a gelled LPG fluid comprising liquefied petroleum gas and a gelling agent; and placing the gelled LPG fluid into the subterranean formation. Another embodiment of the present invention provides a method of treating a subterranean formation comprising the steps of providing a combined LPG servicing fluid comprising liquefied petroleum gas and a conventional hydrocarbon servicing fluid; and placing the combined LPG servicing fluid into the subterranean formation.

Improved methods and compositions for treating subterranean formations penetrated by well bores are provided.
