In accordance with one or more embodiments, a surface wave launcher includes a launcher body configured to surround, at least in part, a transmission medium. A planar antenna includes a first antenna element, a second antenna element and an aperture, the first antenna element and the second antenna element having first portions on opposing sides of the launcher body and second portions on an aperture end of the launcher body, wherein the second portions are perpendicular to the launcher body and the transmission medium and wherein the planar antenna is configured to transmit and receive guided electromagnetic waves that propagate along the transmission medium without requiring an electrical return path. A reflector, configured to direct transmission and reception of the first guided electromagnetic wave to and from the aperture, is electrically coupled to the conductive launcher body on an end of the launcher body opposite to the aperture end of the conductive launcher body.

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, a communication device with a group of radio devices connected with a support structure, where the support structure is positioned in and passes through housing openings in each radio device to provide a stacked arrangement. Method and apparatus for installation and alignment of radio devices

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, a communication device having a connection structure that physically connects with a utility structure, where the connection structure has a strut channel. The communication device has a support structure physically connected to the connection structure. The communication device has a group of radio devices secured to the support structure, where the strut channel is configured to enable temporarily locking the support structure to the connection structure via an installation member during an installation process. Method and apparatus for assembly and installation of a communication device

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, a communication device with a support structure having first and second annular contacts formed on an outer surface thereof, a first radio device having a first inner surface of a first housing opening with a third contact, and a second radio device having a second inner surface of a second housing opening with a fourth contact. The support structure is positioned in and passes through the first and second housing openings thereby positioning the first and second radio devices in a stacked arrangement, and, when in the stacked arrangement, the first and third contacts are aligned and the second and fourth contact are aligned to provide a coupling between the first and second radio devices. Method and apparatus for mounting and coupling radio devices

A wireless communications system includes a number of clusters of repeaters wherein all repeaters within a cluster arc connected to a common hub via respective millimeter-wave radio links. Wireless signals received by the repeaters from end-user devices are transparently carried by the millimeter-wave radio links to respective hubs that act as concentrators for the repeaters. The hubs may be linked to a wireless network base station (in an outdoor setting) or alternatively to a server or a PBX (in an indoor environment) via a high-speed transmission facility, such as a fiber optic cable that is thus shared by all the repeaters.
