Various embodiments of the present disclosure include a mechanical broadhead for use with an archery bow and arrow. In certain arrangements, a broadhead is provided that maintains the cutting blades in a retracted or closed position during flight of the arrow. Upon target contact, the blades expand outwardly from the closed position.

Broadhead

An expandable arrowhead having a blade-carrying body with a slot that houses at least one movably mounted blade. Each blade can be pivotally mounted about a shaft. In some embodiments, the shaft is fixed with respect to the body. In other embodiments, the shaft is movably mounted with respect to the body, for example by mounting a shaft within the slot so that the shaft moves within the slot with respect to the blade-carrying body. In some embodiments of this invention, a spring element positively holds one or more blades in a closed position or a retracted position, particularly during extreme forces encountered when launching an arrow from an archery bow, such as a compound archery bow. The spring element of this invention can be used to improve blade opening capabilities of conventional blade-opening arrowheads or broadheads.

An archery bow stabilizer including a stabilizer body and a plurality of asymmetrical dampening extensions radially extending from the stabilizer body. The dampening extensions can be laterally offset with respect to the stabilizer body from an adjacent dampening extension and/or can include laterally extending protuberances that extend in an opposite direction from as adjacent dampening extension.

Expandable arrowhead or broadhead

An arrow apparatus includes a hollow arrow shaft, an arrow point alignment structure, an arrow point, and a central connection member. The hollow arrow shaft has an outer surface, an interior, and a leading end surface. The arrow point alignment structure includes a tapered portion and is positioned on the outer surface of the arrow shaft at a location proximal of the leading end surface of the arrow shaft. The arrow point is in contact with the tapered portion of the arrow point alignment structure. The central connection member extends into the interior and in contact with the leading end surface.

An arrow rest for an archery bow includes a frame and a vertical post extending upwardly from the frame so that the frame at least partially encircles the vertical post to form an arrow shaft pass-through. The arrow rest further includes a pair of spring arms, brushes and/or rollers extending generally toward the arrow shaft pass-through.

An arrow rest for supporting an arrow shaft with respect to an archery bow. A support element is moveably mounted between a first position or a load position and a second position or a launch position. In the launch position, the arrow shaft can be forced into, such as by the forces of gravity, a centered location or a preferred shooting position.

A cable buss apparatus for an archery bow for laterally deflecting tension cables extending between two opposing cams of the bow to prevent interference with an arrow. The apparatus includes a first cable alignment rod that is attachable to an upper portion of the bow for deflecting a first section of the cables extending between an upper cam and a cable guard. A second cable alignment rod is attachable to a lower portion of the bow for deflecting a second section of the cables extending between a lower cam and the cable guard. The cable guard can be a conventional cable guard, or the cable guard can include one or more further cable alignment rods similar or different from the first and second cable alignment rods.

A serrated blade for an arrowhead, a crossbow bolt and/or another suitable projectile. The blade has a first blade surface that intersects with a second blade surface to form at least one cutting edge. The blade also has a mixed serration section of at least one small serration and at least one large serration. The mixed serration section is positioned adjacent to at least one cutting edge. The serrated configuration of this invention allows the blade to cut in a saw-like manner as the blade passes in a forward direction through a target material.

An arrow element, such as an insert and/or sleeve, mounted with respect to a shaft with at least one airflow resistor projecting outward from the insert to impart rotational spin about a longitudinal axis or spin axis arrow during flight, to increase aerodynamic performance and stability of the arrow shaft, and to improve arrow flight accuracy.
