A precursor formulation of a liner comprising a polymer and at least two curatives is disclosed. One of the at least two curatives comprises a curative formulated to preferentially react with the polymer and the other of the at least two curatives comprises a blocked curative formulated to be substantially unreactive with the polymer. A method of lining a rocket motor is also disclosed, as is a rocket motor including the liner.

An insulation material includes a matrix comprising a reaction product formed from a silicon carbide precursor resin and a silicon dioxide precursor resin. At least one filler, such as hollow glass microspheres and/or carbon fiber is dispersed within the matrix. A rocket motor includes a case, the insulation material within and bonded to the case, and a solid propellant within the case. An insulation precursor includes a silicon carbide precursor resin, a silicon dioxide precursor resin, and the at least one filler. Related methods are also disclosed.

An assembly comprising a first article, a second article adjacent the first article, and an electrically conductive adhesive in electrical communication with the first article and the second article. The electrically conductive adhesive comprises nickel nanostrands dispersed in a matrix comprising a reaction product of bisphenol-F epoxy resin, resorcinol diglycidyl ether epoxy monomer, and at least one amine-containing curing agent. The electrically conductive adhesive exhibits a tensile adhesion strength greater than about 5,000 psi and a volume resistivity less than about 0.01 &#x3a9;&#xb7;cm. Electrically conductive adhesives including nickel nanostrands, precursor packages of the electrically conductive adhesive, related methods of forming the electrically conductive adhesive and an assembly including the electrically conductive adhesive are also disclosed.

A precursor formulation of a liner comprising a polymer and at least two curatives. One of the at least two curatives comprises a more reactive curative and the other of the at least two curatives comprises a less reactive curative. The more reactive curative is formulated to crosslink the polymer. A method of lining a rocket motor is also disclosed, as is a rocket motor including the liner.

Methods of forming an insulating material comprising combining a polysilazane, a cross-linking compound, and a gas-generating compound to form a reaction mixture, and curing the reaction mixture to form a modified polysilazane. The gas-generating compound may be water, an alcohol, an amine, or combinations thereof. The cross-linking compound may be an isocyanate, an epoxy resin, or combinations thereof. The insulating material may include a matrix comprising one of a reaction product of a polysilazane and an isocyanate and a reaction product of a polysilazane and an epoxy resin. The matrix also comprises a plurality of interconnected pores produced from one of reaction of the polysilazane and the isocyanate and from reaction of the polysilazane and the epoxy resin. A precursor formulation that comprises a polysilazane, a cross-linking compound, and a gas-generating compound is also disclosed.
