Methods and apparatuses to apply substances to a biological tissue are described. The tissue having an target below a surface is stretched to provide openings in a surface. Stretching forces a material from the target onto the surface. A first substance may be applied while stretching to promote cleaning the tissue. A second substance may be applied to the surface. Energy may be applied to the tissue. Then the tissue is relaxed to draw the second substance through the openings into the tissue. The tissue may be stretched by applying a negative pressure, and relaxed by removing the negative pressure. The first substance may be an abrasive material. The second substance is a medicine, a moisturizer, a lotion, or any combination thereof. The second substance may be applied to the biological tissue using a positive pressure. The apparatus to apply substances may be a handheld device.

Apparatus and method to apply substances to tissue

A medical device to eradicate abnormality is provided. In one embodiment, the medical device includes a needle and an electrode. The medical device further includes a processor to automatically determine a portion of a biological tissue is associated with an abnormality when a sample density of an immediate area surrounding the needle in the biological tissue matches a target density as determined based on one or more of a chemical composition and a pigmentation of the abnormality. The processor calculates a resonant frequency to eradicate a presence of the abnormality based on the chemical composition and/or the pigmentation of the abnormality as determined through one or more of a conductivity, a capacitance, and an inductance of the abnormality. The medical device also includes a signal source to electrically couple the needle with the electrode to form a closed circuit when the needle and electrode contact the biological tissue.

Abnormality eradication through resonance

Devices and methods having a cooling material and reduced pressures to treat biological external tissue using at least one energy source are disclosed. The cooling material may be water, ethyl alcohol, and/or any other material having a vapor pressure below atmospheric pressure. The energy source may be incoherent light, coherent light, a radio frequency, ultrasound, a laser, and/or any other type of energy that can be applied through the device. The features of various embodiments of the device include the generation of positive pressure and/or negative pressure through one or more pressure conduits, the application of an object within a recess of the device, and measurements through various sensors on the device. These sensors may be monitored and/or controlled through a display element having rows and columns of pixels on the device. The device may be a handheld device or an add-on to existing devices in some embodiments, and may include skin color sensors, temperature sensors, motion sensors, vapor pressure sensors, material sensors, and/or capacitance sensors.

Apparatus and method having a cooling material and reduced pressure to treat biological external tissue

A method, device, and system for modifying or destroying selected tissue, by selecting an area of tissue for treatment, collecting the area between a plurality of energy transmitting elements, applying an electric current and/or electromagnetic radiation between the energy transmitting elements, and applying the electric current and/or electromagnetic radiation until, for example, the cells are modified or destroyed. Cooling may be applied to prevent unwanted modification. Conducting mediums may be applied to control tissue modification. Embodiments of the present invention may be used for treatment of fat cells, acne, lesions, tattoo removals etc.

System and method for treating tissue

A laser beam from a tunable solid state laser such as an alexandrite laser passes through a Raman shifter to produce a Raman-emitted beam with wavelength shifted so as to be able to activate a preselected photosensitizer for medical treatment. A combination of a laser and a Raman shifter with or without additionally a harmonic generator such as a frequency doubler may be also selected such that radiation with two different wavelengths can be obtained for treatment and detection.

Method of and apparatus for laser-assisted therapy

A structure and method for operating a copper-vapor laser involves splitting and polarizing the exiting beam of radiation into two beams of different polarization orientations. One beam is completely reflected back to the laser medium within a first external cavity, and the other beam is partially reflected back to the laser medium in a second external cavity and is also partially transmitted to provide an output beam of short pulse duration that is selectively shaped in response to the interaction within the laser medium of the two segregated beams.
