System, device, and method for detecting a passive identification tag and identifying a tag ID for the passive identification tag are provided. The system can include a transmitting system, a passive identification tag, and a receiving system. The transmitting system generates one or more detection signals to interrogate the passive identification tag, where the one or more detection signals includes a first detection signal having a first frequency range. The passive identification tag receives the one or more detection signals, and generates at least a first tag response in response to the first detection signal. The receiving system receives the first tag response, and processes the first tag response to determine a plurality of signal components for the first frequency range, where the plurality of signal components can be used to determine the tag ID.

A detector circuit being part of a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) device is provided, including: a bias current generator circuit configured to generate an output bias current that is proportional to the square of a temperature-dependent input current; first and second Field-Effect Transistor (FET) devices; at least one of the first and the second FET devices is biased by means of the output bias current of the bias current generator circuit so that FET device(s) operates in a sub-threshold region; an incoming Radio Frequency (RF) signal being coupled into at least one of the first and the second FET devices; a current source configured to generate a variable threshold current; and a comparator configured to determine, based on the variable threshold current and the incoming RF signal, whether a value of the incoming RF signal exceeds a threshold value.

Detector circuit for an RFID-device

The present invention concerns a programmable power amplifier comprising: an amplifier core transistor circuit connected to an amplifier output node; a switch connected to the amplifier core transistor circuit, the switch being configured to switch on and off the amplifier core transistor circuit; and a feedback circuit of the amplifier core transistor circuit. The feedback circuit comprises a digital-to-analog converter and an operational amplifier having a first input node configured to receive a first reference signal; a second input node connected to the digital-to-analog converter; and an output node for outputting an operational amplifier output signal and connected to the amplifier core transistor circuit for controlling the amount of current flowing in the amplifier core transistor circuit. The digital-to-analog converter has a programmable resistance value for controlling the resistance of the digital-to-analog converter to thereby adjust a digital-to-analog converter output signal fed to the second input node of the operational amplifier for controlling an amplifier output signal at the amplifier output node.

A method for improving threshold accuracy in an RFID-device through offset cancellation, and including the steps of providing a comparator including a first and a second amplifiers, providing a current output digital-to-analogue converter, AC-coupling in an RF-signal into the detector circuit, during a first phase, applying a signal based on the RF-signal into the first amplifier while a current of the DAC is set to zero, and applying a current of the DAC into the second amplifier while a signal based on the RF-signal is set to zero, during a second phase, applying the current of the DAC into the first amplifier while the signal based on the RF-signal is set to zero, and applying the signal based on the RF-signal into the second amplifier while the current of the DAC is set to zero.

Method for improving threshold accuracy in an RFID-device through offset cancellation

A photovoltaic module-mounted AC inverter circuit uses one or more integrated circuits, several power transistors configured as switches, several solid-dielectric capacitors for filtering and energy storage, several inductors for power conversion and ancillary components to support the above elements in operation. The integrated circuit includes all monitoring, control and communications circuitry needed to operate the inverter. The integrated circuit controls the activity of pulse-width modulated power handling transistors in both an input boost converter and a single-phase or multi-phase output buck converter. The integrated circuit also monitors all power processing voltages and currents of the inverter and can take appropriate action to limit power dissipation in the inverter, maximize the available power from the associated PV module and shut down the inverter output if the grid conditions so warrant. The integrated circuit implements power line communications by monitoring the AC wiring for signals and generating communications signals via the same pulse-width modulation system used to generate the AC power. Communications is used to report inverter and PV module status information, local identification code and to allow for remote control of inverter operation.

Inverter for use in photovoltaic module

A system is disclosed that may include an Automatic Gain Control (AGC) module configured to automatically adjust the gain of a receiver, which is configured to receive a signal. The signal includes a number of commands, which have a characteristic command length and a characteristic command interval. The command length may have a substantially shorter duration than the command interval. The system may also include a slicer configured to interface to a command processor. The system includes a command processor communicatively coupled with the AGC module and/or the slicer for providing a notification to the AGC module and/or the slicer associated with the ends of the commands. The AGC module is configured to adjust the gain of the receiver and the slicer threshold voltage is updated when the notification is received from the command processor.

Shuttering eyewear (or shutter glasses) may be used to enable stereoscopic 3D and to provide different images to two viewers using a single display, known as Dual View. The shuttering eyewear may utilize charge recovery circuits. The charge recovery circuits may achieve high charge recovery efficiencies on the order of 80 to 90 percent resulting in a dramatic reduction in power supply battery operating current and a resulting increase in operating time. The charge recovery circuits may utilize switch mode boost conversion to recover most of the charge from a shutter that is being closed to one that is to be opened. Further, a charge recovery method for utilizing energy stored on a capacitive storage device may include closing a first active shutter, moving charge to a converter in buck mode to a capacitor, and pulling charge from the capacitor to open a second shutter.

This disclosure provides a technique for controlling the slew rate and number of transition segments used to move the LC drive voltage level from one voltage to another. In one embodiment, a method of controlling a polarization modulator in a polarization-based stereoscopic display device may comprise providing digital signals to each of a plurality of drive circuits to generate a drive voltage from each drive circuit, where the drive voltages drive the polarization modulator. Such an exemplary method may also include determining a time sequential list of transition specifications configured to provide discrete transitions in one or more of the drive voltages. Then, in such methods, the digital signals provided to each of the one or more drive circuits receiving a transition may be adjusted, in accordance with the time sequential list, thereby altering their drive voltages based on the transition specifications.

In one embodiment, the apparatus comprises a power module for coupling to a DC power source via a DC bus, wherein the power module (i) converts a first power from the DC power source to a second power, and (ii) comprises a maximum power point tracking module unit for dynamically adjusting a load voltage of the DC power source; an AC bus; and a controller, physically separate from the power module and coupled to the power module via the AC bus, for operatively controlling the power module.

Filtering of the signal may be achieved via a circuit for passing data sidebands of infrared signals. The circuit may include a band pass filter with a low value of Q operable to filter out a first type of interference signal from a signal, a plurality of mixers operable to receive the signal from the band pass filter, wherein the plurality of mixers down converts the signal to baseband signals, and a plurality of low pass filters operable to receive the baseband signals from the plurality of mixers, wherein the plurality of low pass filters rejects a second type of interference.
