A device for separating liquid from a volume flow of a gas-liquid mixture may include a separating element and a deflection arrangement for deflecting the volume flow in a direction of the separating element to precipitate liquid on the separating element and thereby separate the liquid. The deflection arrangement may comprise a flow channel that extends axially away from a volume flow inlet and comprises an aperture area that extends axially on the flow channel. The aperture area may be at least partly covered by a covering means that is movable relative to the aperture area. The covering means may be movable to different extents at two axially-spaced locations to influence a magnitude of a part volume flow of the deflected volume flow flowing out of the flow channel through the aperture area at one axial location differently than at another axial location.

Separating device

An oil-separating device for crankcase ventilation of an internal combustion engine may include a hollow member that extends axially in a longitudinal axis and through which a gas flow charged with oil can flow. The gas flow may flow against an oil separation ring disposed within or formed in the hollow member. The hollow member may contain a substantially rotationally symmetrical flow guiding member that has a flow projection located in the longitudinal axis and that has a flow contour that radially increases in a downstream direction so that gas can flow around the flow guiding member and so that the gas flow between the flow contour and the inner side of the hollow member can strike the oil separation ring in an accelerated manner.

Oil-separating device, in particular for a crankcase ventilation system of an internal combustion engine

A camshaft contains a support tube, on which components including at least one cam are arranged at predetermined locations. The support tube extends at least partially through a hole in the components, and wherein a press fit is produced between the support tube and the components by hydroforming. Accordingly, at least one locally formed material formation is provided between the support tube and the hole. Via the material formation, the component is retained at the location in a desired orientation relative to the support tube in such a way that the support tube having the mounted components can be fed for hydroforming.

Camshaft and method for producing the camshaft

An oil separator may be used in a variety of contexts, one of which is for crankcase ventilation of an internal combustion engine. The oil separator may include a hollow member that extends along a longitudinal axis and is configured to receive a gas flow that is charged with oil. The oil separator may also include an oil separation member disposed within the hollow member and against which the gas flow flows. A redirection member may be disposed proximate the oil separation member in the hollow member, wherein the redirection member redirects at least a portion of the gas flow traveling substantially along the longitudinal axis radially outwards so as to impact an inner side of the oil separation member. As a result of an impactor effect from the gas flow striking the oil separation member as well as the inertia of the oil, the oil may remain in and/or pass through the oil separation member.

Oil separator for crankcase ventilation of an internal combustion engine

The invention relates to a method for producing a tubular structural part by means of hydroforming. An assigned end of a supporting tube () is inserted into an opening in an end piece () and then widened by a pressurized fluid being applied to it and is connected to the end piece () with a press fit. The opening () has a first portion () with a first inner cross section, which is greater than the outer cross section of the assigned end of the supporting tube (). According to the invention, the first portion () is adjoined by a second portion (), in a step-shaped manner so as to form an edge (). The inner cross section of the second portion () is smaller than the outer cross section of the assigned end of the supporting tube (). In the method according to the invention, the supporting tube () is first inserted with its corresponding end into the first portion (), before the edge () cuts into the material of the supporting tube () in a further pushing-in movement.
