Hand scraper

Planing tool includes an elongated frame having a lower planer surface for supporting an elongated planer blade along its entire length. The elongated frame has a relatively fixed downwardly and outwardly beveled flange at the forward end thereof for engagement by one of the blade mounting tabs and a spring latch adjacent the back end for releasably engaging the other mounting tab securely to hold the blade in place during use of the tool. The spring for the latch has a generally inverted U-shape portion which is retained within the hollow of a generally arch shape handle extending upwardly adjacent the rear of the tool frame. A recess or slot is provided in the lower back wall portion of the handle for receipt of the other blade mounting tab and permitting limited rearward movement of the spring latch into locking engagement with such other blade mounting tab.

Hand-held scraper includes a body or holder portion to which is removably secured a scraping or cutting blade. The blade is retained in place by camming the mounting tabs at its respective ends into tight frictional locking engagement with a pair of longitudinally spaced apart retaining ribs protruding downwardly in opposite outwardly disposed directions from the underneath side of the holder portion. At least one of the retaining ribs is somewhat flexible to facilitate camming of the blade into and out of assembled engagement with the holder portion with little or no flexing of the mounting tabs and no bending or yielding of the blade body whatsoever. To facilitate removal and replacement of the blade, a movable lever is provided on the underneath side of the holder portion inwardly of one of the mounting tabs. When the lever is manually pushed downwardly, the lever presses against such mounting tab, causing it to cam away from the associated mounting rib thus freeing the blade from the holder.

A wristband connector including an outer tubular member having two radially inwardly projecting guides, one at each end of the outer tubular member. A lug slot extends from one end of the outer tubular member along part of its length. Two inner tubular members having an outside diameter slightly less than the inside diameter of the outer tubular member have a guide slot which cooperates with and slidingly receives the guide on the outer tubular member to prevent relative rotation of the inner tubular members and outer tubular member while permitting them to slide therein. One of the inner tubular members further includes a finger lug extending outwardly therefrom which slides in the lug slot in order to provide a manual means for retracting one of the inner tubular members into the outer tubular member thereby facilitating placement of the wristband connector on a wristwatch. Pins integral with and extending longitudinally outwardly from the inner tubular members engage outwardly extending arms of a wristwatch. A spring inside the outer tubular member biases the inner tubular members outwardly and a means for holding a wristband to the wristband connector is operatively attached to the outer tubular member.
