A frame joint connects a plurality of elongate frame members adapted to support a flexible shelter skin. The frame joint includes a first housing having an interior and frame connectors. Each frame connector is adapted to releasably connect an elongate frame member to the first housing. The frame joint includes an electrical source mounted in the interior of the first housing. A light emitting element mounted on the first housing and connected to the electrical source emits light to illuminate an interior of the shelter. The light emitting element is positioned on the first housing to direct light toward the interior of the shelter when the joint is connected to the elongate frame members and the frame members are supporting the flexible shelter skin. The frame joint includes a switch operatively connected to the electrical source and the light emitting element for selectively energizing the light emitting element.

A tent includes a fabric enclosure including a plurality of walls and a floor defining a floor perimeter. Each wall is coupled to the floor at a joining seam positioned at a vertical distance with respect to a ground plane. A skirt is coupled to each wall at the joining seam and extends external to the floor perimeter.

An insulated container includes a body, a cover and an expandable beverage holder. The body includes outer walls and a base to define a storage space and to prevent heat transfer out of the storage space. The cover is configured to couple with the body and to prevent heat transfer out of the storage space. The expandable beverage holder is configured to couple to the cover and to hold a beverage container when expanded.

A sleeping bag includes a sleeping bag body configured to envelope a person lying within the sleeping bag body, and a section of thermal fleece material attached to the inside surface of the sleeping bag body at a designated area, configured to provide additional warmth to a sleeping bag user at the designated area. In one aspect of the invention, the designated area includes a foot area. In another aspect of the invention, the thermal fleece material is soft to touch. In another aspect of the invention, the sleeping bag body is configured to couple to another sleeping bag body to form a larger sleeping bag. Advantages of the invention include the ability to provide added thermal insulation to a sleeping bag, as well as added comfort to a sleeping bag user, at a designated area of the sleeping bag.

A tent including a fabric enclosure forming a plurality of walls and defining an interior of the tent. A frame is positioned with respect to the fabric enclosure and is configured to support the fabric enclosure. At least one eve portion is coupled to the frame and extends outwardly from a first wall of the plurality of walls. A cover is coupled to the frame and the at least one eve portion. The cover is configured to cover at least a portion of the fabric enclosure.

A tent ventilation structure includes a vent window in proximity to a tent floor, and an awning coupled to a top edge of the vent window configured to extend outward from the tent to a position above the base of the vent window. Advantages of the invention include the ability to ventilate the tent at locations that improve air circulation and the campers' comfort and enjoyment.

A sleeping bag having a compact foot space configuration for user warmth in cold ambient temperatures and an expanded foot space configuration for user comfort in mild to warm ambient temperatures. The sleeping bag includes an elongate shell defining a volume sized and shaped to receive a user therein. The shell has an outer surface, a head end portion, a foot end portion and left and right lateral sides. An opening extends generally along at least one of the lateral sides generally in the foot end portion. A pocket made of limp material and associated with the shell is generally in the opening. In the expanded configuration, the pocket and shell define a first foot space volume of the sleeping bag extending through the opening in the shell to a location spaced from the outer surface of the shell. In the compact configuration, the shell defines a second foot space volume and the pocket defines no volume outwardly of the shell opening, the first foot space volume being greater than the second foot space volume. A fastener is associated with the shell for closing the shell opening in the compact configuration of the sleeping bag.

Single person shelter

A backpack having a resilient member associated with one of the panels of material forming the backpack. The resilient member is held in an elastically deformed configuration on the one panel so that it stiffens that panel and tends to hold the backpack open. Shoulder straps of the backpack are constructed with ventilation channels on their undersides of the straps and portion of the body underlying the straps. The underside of each strap includes frictionalizing material for engagement with the top of the shoulder of the person wearing the backpack. Each strap also includes a load distributing region generally located along the length of the strap for engagement with the top of the shoulder of the person wearing the backpack. At least one strap includes a pocket having an opening extending generally longitudinally and transversely across the strap.
