A Compact Optical Virus Detection Analyzer (COVDA) uses light scattering and fluorescence to detect nanometer (nm) and micrometer (um) sized particles, such as biological particles and can be used to detect viruses such as coronavirus including SAR-CoV-2 responsible for COVID-19, pollen and bacteria. It can be used for prescreening, rapid detection of suspicious people. COVDA involves experimental and theoretical methods for particle and virus detection using Tryptophan as a key biomarker. Light sources in compact units include lamps such as Xenon (Xe) lamp with narrow band filters, LEDs (such as AlN) or laser diode, Q switched and mode lock Lasers for nanosecond and picosecond pulses (such as Nd Yag/Glass, Ti sapphire with Harmonic generator) in blue from 400 nm to 500 nm to generate second harmonic generation (SHG) in KDP/BBO crystals to produce 200 nm to 250 nm emission, or green laser pointers at about 530 nm to get emitters with harmonic crystals at about 270 nm or LEDS from 230 nm to 300 nm for pumping the samples at 230 nm to 289 nm to pump tryptophan and light scatter of nanometer particles of virus. The ultra high power ns and ps lasers in mJ to J can level can be used to locate Bio virus bacteria clouds in free space to image and destroy and kill virus.

Compact optical virus detection analyzer of nano- and micro-size bio particles using light scattering and fluorescence

A method for obtaining a polarized orbital angular momentum Raman spectrum using vector vortex beams, includes the steps of emitting a polarized laser light from a laser source. The polarized laser light is passed through a narrow band filter that is then passed through a section of wave plates (quarter or half wave plate) to generate polarized light (linear, circular, radial and azimuthal), then through a q-plate (vortex retarder or spiral plate) to give a vortex structure topology carrying orbital angular momentum with a helical phase. The polarized vector vortex light is then directed to contact a sample, thereby producing a Raman scatter beam. The Raman scatter beam is passed back and collected into a spectrometer, thereby obtaining a Raman scattering spectrum of the sample to investigate the matching of the multipoles of the material and the multipoles of the light. A method for transmission with Multiple expansions of orbital angular momentum in rat cerebellum tissue is also disclosed. In general, we use polarized Laguerre-Gaussian vector vortex beams as a topology multipole model to describe and study the light matter interaction for Raman and transmission using the fact that the optical vortices and material can possess Multipoles denoted as L in form of monopole (L=0), dipole (L=1), quadrupole (L=2), octupole (L=3), hexidecapole (L=4) and higher orders. These multipoles can be involved with the matching up with the symmetry of the moments involved with vibrational states in Raman processes.

Raman scattering from orbital and spin angular momentum in materials

In this patent, we teach methods to generate coherent X-ray and UUV rays beams for X ray and UUV microscopes using intense femtosecond pulses resulting the Ultra-Supercontinuum (USC) and Higher Harmonic Generation (HHG) from &#x3c7;3 and &#x3c7;media produce from electronic and molecular Kerr effect. The response of n(&#x3c7;3) and n(&#x3c7;5) at the optical frequency from instantaneously response of carrier phase of envelope results in odd HHG and spectral broadening about each harmonic on the anti-Stokes side of the pump pulse at wo typically in the visible, NIR, and MIR. From the slower molecular Kerr response on femtosecond to picosecond from orientation and molecular motion on nand nwhich follow the envelope of optical field of the laser gives rise to extreme broadening without HHG. The resulting spectra extend on the Stokes side towards the IR, RF to DC covering most of the electromagnetic spectrum. These HHG and Super broadening covering UUV to X rays and possibly to gamma ray regime for microscopes.

Table-top ultra supercontinuum and higher harmonic generation source for microscopy

A super class of polarized transverse vector vortex photon beams patterns are mathematically represented here, which are-like among them are the radial and azimuthal Laguerre-Gaussian, hybrid &#x3c0;-vector beams, and Airy beams. These optical beams are consider spin-orbit coupled beams based on OAM and SAM parts of light. Aphoton is a photon that is identical to its anti-photon. It has within itself both chirality, right and left-handed twist in polarization (SAM) and wavefront (OAM). Applications usingphotons improve optical deeper imaging, higher resolution imaging, Nonlinear Optics effects (SHG, SRS, SC), optical communication in free space and fibers, quantum computer as basic qubit, and entanglement for security.

Method for imaging biological tissue using polarized majorana vector and complex vortex photons from laser and supercontinuum light sources

The focus of the teachings is on using Compact ferrite antenna to detect the motion of metal objects using a very low frequency (VLF) square wave, propagated between a pair of compact ferrite-particle dielectric-core RWA antennas in free space. The two salient features in the signal are observed; both of which are characteristic of Brillouin-precursor propagation: (1) a temporal Bessel-like waveform; and (2) an algebraic, rather than exponential, attenuation with distance over three meters. The key element teaching shows pair of source and detector antenna enables the detection of metals (weapon gun, knife) on a person or package between the ferrite-particle dielectric-core antennas-source (S) and detector (D) pairs or arrays of S-D tractor. The detection consisted of a change in the amplitude of the Bessel-like waveform of the received signal for security system to detect weapons.

Compact brillouin antenna for detecting metal in free space area

Structured beams, Bessel beams, Laguerre Gaussian beams, and focused Gaussian are used as a natural waveguide and its group velocity can be subluminal (slower than the speed of light) as compared to a Gaussian beam in free space. A free space dispersion relation for a Bessel beam, i.e., the dependence of its wavenumber on its angular frequency, is outlined from which the Bessel beam's subliminal group velocity is derived. For reasonable conditions a Bessel light beam has associated parameters that allow slowing near a critical frequency. The application of Bessel beams for a natural optical buffer in free space is presented. Optical transitions and selection rules in materials are altered by structured light carrying orbital angular momentum (OAM). Nano antennas are used to enhance the interactions of structured light.

Method for altering light interactions with complex structured light

Supercontinuum (SC) (&#x2dc;400 nm to &#x2dc;2500 nm) and a microscope produce enhanced microscopic images on sub-micron to cm scale of linear (&#x3c7;) and nonlinear (&#x3c7;, &#x3c7;, &#x3c7;. . . ) processes via resonance including linear absorption, SHG, THG, SRG, SRL, SRS, 2PEF, 3PEF, 4PEF, and inverse Raman in a microscope for 2D and 3D imaging. Images and processes in 2D and 3D arise from electronic and vibrational resonances transitions in biological and medical tissues, cells, condensed matter applications. Resonant Stimulated Raman Scattering (RSRS) is proposed to improve vibrational imaging of biomaterials by using part of SC. Quantum mechanical processes from SC for 2 and 4 photons to improve resolution and imaging using entangled photons are described. The addition of time measuring instrument like a Streak camera and the scattering coefficient &#x3bc;' can be mapped to create images of tissue and biomaterial in 5D: Space (3D), Time, and Wavelength.

Supercontinuum microscope for resonance and non-resonance enhanced linear and nonlinear images and time resolved microscope for tissues and materials

Majorana photons are transmitted through a biological tissue sample to image the tissue. The Majorana photons have a circular polarization, a radial polarization or an azimuthal polarization. The transmitted photons are processed to produce a digital image of the biological tissue sample.

Method for imaging biological tissue using polarized Majorana photons

A Random Walk Antenna (RWA) generates VLF, ULF, RF, MHz and GHz waves by dispersion of a driving signal through a ferriomagnetic ferrite nano and micron composite in compact ultra-small antenna. When oscillator frequency spans several resonances of ferrite magnetic dielectric media consisting of resonances from optical phonons and magnon high frequency and lower frequency are produced from Sommerfeld Polaritons Precursor (SP) and Brillouin Polariton Precursors (BP), respectively. The ferrite nano and micron size particle in antenna resultant electromagnetic waves from RWA contain Sommerfeld and Brillouin polariton precursors. High and low-frequency waves propagate with an algebraic attenuation making them ideal for deep use in highly conductive or highly attenuating media such as in seawater, buildings, underground and or free space on the Earth. Warfighters can use the RAW ferrite nano and micron size antenna system.

Random walk magnetic dielectric antenna to generate Brillouin and Sommerfeld precursors

There is a need for a compact instrument and microscope that maps the vibration fingerprints of biomolecules and chemicals in a sample such as brain, breast, cervix, and arteries. One can use spontaneous Raman scattering to accomplish this; however, the problem is low scattering efficiency to 10. With the availability of continuous wave diode laser at numerous wavelengths from 375 nm-1800 nm for parametric nonlinear difference vibrational mixing to enhance Stimulated Raman process within materials. A seed beam at Raman frequency is used with pump laser beam. In this way one can map in 2D and 3D images of the vibrations associate with disease changes. Scanning a pair of laser beams can map the location of vibrations within cells, smears, membranes, arteries, and tissues of animal and human.

Continuous diode laser stimulated Raman gain/loss vibrational microscope

A method to detect vibrations associated with biomolecules in tissues and cellsuses Resonance Raman (RR) spectroscopy to measure specific biomolecules in tissue and cells signals. The changes of RR lines of key molecules present to the chemical conformations and change due to disease such as cancer and heart disease. Biomolecules are collagen, flavins, tryptophan, NADH, NAD, etc. The laser beams excite RR of vibration associated with absorption of the key native molecules in tissue (Tryptophan, NADH, Flavins, Collagen, carotenoids, porphyrins and others. The margin assessment and RR images in 2D and 3D regions are found by RR signals using position scanners. The intensity and the numbers of molecule fingerprints indicate the presence of and the degree of the changes of chemical conformations.

Resonance Raman spectroscopy analyzer instrument for biomolecules in tissues and cells

A method is provided for deep tissue imaging using multi-photon excitation of a fluorescent agent. The fluorescent agent is irradiated with an ultrafast laser to produce an excited singlet state (S) which subsequently undergoes non-radiative relaxation to a first singlet state (S). The Sstate undergoes fluorescence to the ground state Sto produce an emission wavelength. Both the excitation and emission wavelengths are within the near infrared optical window, thereby permitting deep tissue penetration for both the incoming and outgoing signals.

Method of deep tissue imaging using multi-photon excitation of a fluorophore

The production of orbital angular momentum (OAM) using an electrically-tunable q-plate, spiral phase plate or spatial light modulator, as well as a phase mask that can act as a spatial frequency filter, provides a simple, efficient method of edge contrast in biological, objects and medical sample imaging for histological evaluation of tissue, smears, PAP and histopathological samples. An OAM instrument produces OAM situated at the Fourier plane of a 4F lens system, similar to the use of a high-pass spatial filter, allows the passage of high spatial frequencies and enables the production of an image with highly illuminated edges contrasted against a dark background for both opaque and transparent objects.

OAM microscope for edge enhancement of biomedical and condensed matter samples and objects

A chemical-free, laser-induced rain method uses supercontinuum (SC) generation by 800 nm 100 fs ultra high power laser beams to produce photoionization in optical filaments and application of Gaussian(G) and Laguerre Gaussian (LG) beams. The SC is used to produce multiple filamentations and micro particle manipulation in the atmosphere with obvious applications in arid or drought ridden areas. Two salient steps are used to induce rain: 1) high peak power filament inducing laser pulses to ionize air molecules and preexisting aerosols, and 2) manipulation of nano and micro sized particles using special function beams as potential particle traps, such as the Laguerre Gaussian and Gaussian beams. The outcome is a clean, safe, efficient method for inducing rain. The application is not just limited to rain induction but can also be used in clearing dust and cloud clearing formations.

Rain induced by supercontinuum laser beams

A rectal near infrared (NIR) scanning polarization imaging system uses NIR Photonic Prostatoscopy Analyzer (NIRPPA) for prostate cancer detection using light. The NIRPPA consists of a portable rectal NIR scanning polarization imaging unit and an optical fiber-based rectal probe capable of recording sets of 2D images of a prostate through rectum at different wavelengths and depths and obtaining a three dimensional (3D) image of the prostate and 3D locations of abnormal tissue inside the prostate. Diode lasers/light emission diodes (LEDs) with selected emitting wavelengths are used in the NIR spectral range from 650 nm to 2,400 nm corresponding to the four tissue optical windows (#I, 650 nm-950 nm; #II, 1,100 nm-1,350 nm; #III, 1,600 nm-1,870 nm; and #IV, 2,100 nm-2,300 nm). The fingerprint absorptions of water (HO), Oxyhemoglobin (HbO) and deoxyhemoglobin (Hb) in the prostate are used as native biomarkers for prostate cancer detection.
