An infection control filter label includes a frame and a filter membrane that covers a window through the frame. The frame may be removably secured to a cover for an item, such as a cushion (e.g., a pillow, a positioner, a mattress topper, a mattress, a seat cushion, etc.), bedding (e.g., a duvet, etc.), or the like to provide a sealed cover for the item. The sealed cover may be impermeable, with the infection control filter label limiting the passage of dust and microorganisms (e.g., fungi, bacteria, mold spores, etc.) from passing therethrough. Thus, the sealed cover may protect its contents from external factors (e.g., sick individuals, etc.) while protecting the environment outside the sealed cover from the contents of the sealed cover. Information about the item may be provided on the frame; for example, by printing, writing, or the like.

The present disclosure relates to a patient support which can be used in a bed or flat surface and in particular to a system and method for support and offloading of the body and for turning and repositioning of a patient in a bed or on a flat surface. Features of the disclosure also relate to markings and other indicators used on the patient support which help guide caregivers in the proper use and correct patient positioning on the patient support.

The present invention relates to a system and method for sacral and trochanteric support and off-loading. The system provides a ultra low pressure plenum and a positioner. The patient body size and size and corresponding surface area of the positioner control the amount of gas which is displaced evenly against the walls of the ultra low pressure plenum to allow the combination of the ultra low pressure plenum and the positioner to slightly lift a patient from a bed surface, thereby offloading the sacrum and trochanter. The present invention relates to a system and method for support and off-loading. The system includes an inner bladder filled with a flowable composition. An outer bladder filled with a flowable composition is positioned adjacent to the inner bladder. The composition of the inner bladder has greater flow characteristics than the composition of the outer bladder. The inner bladder micro-contours to the received body part and the outer bladder macro-contours to the inner bladder after the inner bladder is micro-contoured to the received body part. Alternatively, the system provides a pair of ultra low pressure plenums and a positioner. The patient body size and size and corresponding surface area of the positioner control the amount of gas which is displaced evenly against the walls of the ultra low pressure plenums.

The present invention relates to a support for a body part including a compression device in combination with a lower leg protection system. The compression device can be integral with the outer support at a position received over the lower leg. One or more valves can extend from a compression bladder for attachment to a pneumatic device. Inflation of the compression bladder positioner adjacent the lower leg also displaces air in the outer support toward the foot which causes simultaneous massaging of the foot. The pneumatic device can be adjusted to provide either sequential or intermittent therapies. The outer support can include a rigid outer shell for providing support.

The present invention relates to a mattress system in which a ultra low pressure plenum is positioned within the mattress system. In one embodiment, the ultra low pressure plenum is a bladder which is sandwiched between layers of a foam material. A plurality of ultra low pressure plenums formed as columns extending longitudinally or laterally along the length of the mattress system can be used.

The inner positioner can displace and contour three-dimensionally as though it was fluid to the sides and top of the leg while not having flow characteristics that would result in migration of the medium under the force of gravity. The system can also include an outer support which is received over the inner positioner. The outer support can be in the shape of an open boot. The outer support can include an ultra low pressure plenum. The ultra low pressure plenum is filled at a predetermined low pressure for distributing pressure along the length of the outer support, but not providing significant elevation of the lower leg and heel by itself.
