The invention herein provides for a tab lifting and leveraging device for opening a pop top or pull top container wherein said pop top or pull top container is of hand held size and having a sealed opening and a lift tab located on its top surface. Said tab lifting and leveraging device of the invention herein comprising a planar length of solid durable material having at least a length and a width. Said device further having a bottom edge, a top edge, a proximate side edge, a distal side edge, a prying element, a rear groove, a recessed fulcrum point, and a handle. When in use, said prying element is fitted through said lift tab and lifted at a given angle against the container surface.

Container opening device and method of use

A garment drying cabinet and a garment dryer utilizing the garment drying cabinet. The garment drying cabinet includes a housing through which at least one heater mounting opening and at least one exhaust hole are disposed. At least one heater mount is attached to the housing proximate to each mounting opening and is dimensioned to attach a heater to the housing such that the air directed from the heater is delivered into the interior of the housing. A cabinet door is movably attached to the housing. The garment dryer combines the drying cabinet with at least one heater.

An improved invalid bed for use by individuals that are unable to lift themselves into a seated position with their arms that includes a foot board and a foot support spacer that is positionable against the foot board of the bed and against which the user can push with their feet to slide themselves into a seated position.

Invalid bed

An arm rest for use with the door of a motor vehicle is disclosed which provides comfort and added safety feature for the driver or passenger of the motor vehicle. The arm rest preferable includes a base, a leg which is inserted between a panel of the door and the window, and a padded portion on which the driver or passenger may rest his or her arm during operation of the motor vehicle. Raised projections on the leg of the arm rest secure the arm rest in the door. A high-friction material, such as rubber, prevents the arm rest from slipping or scratching the molding on the door. The arm rest also contains a padded portion which is supported by a support member such as wood, and consists of foam padding covered by a cloth or vinyl cover. The arm rest may contain a notch for receive the post of an door lock. The arm rest may also have a canopy on the base for covering the door lock to prevent an intruder or thief from unlocking the motor vehicle door. A method of using the apparatus is also disclosed.

Safety arm rest

An off-gas from a process for producing styrene from ethylbenzene, which contains non-condensables; in particular, hydrogen, as well as some aromatics; in particular, ethylbenzene, is contacted with a higher boiling absorption oil to scrub aromatics from the off-gas and provide an off-gas essentially free of aromatics. The absorption step is employed as a final treatment of the off-gas; i.e., subsequent to initial treatment of the off-gas by chilling and/or ethylbenzene scrubbing to initially reduce the aromatics content thereof. A preferred absorption oil is the heavy byproducts obtained from a process for producing ethylbenzene, which contains polyethylbenzenes.

Recovery of aromatics from styrene production off-gas

Alkylation of an aromatic is provided in a reactor having a central alkylation zone, and a surrounding transalkylation zone. The reaction mixture flows cocurrently through the alkylation zone and then into the surrounding transalkylation zone, with the mixture flowing in approximate plug flow through the transalkylation zone to the outlet thereof. Polyalkyl aromatics recovered from the effluent are recycled to the inlet end of the transalkylation zone.

Production of monoalkyl aromatics

A process in which copper, nickel, cobalt and molybdenum are recovered by direct leaching of comminuted raw manganese nodules with an aqueous ammoniacal leach solution containing cuprous ions. During the process cuprous ions are consumed and are oxidized to cupric ions. The cuprous ions are regenerated by reducing the cupric ions with a reducing gas. An improvement is disclosed which results from increasing the pressure of the reducing gas. This increased pressure facilitates maintaining a high cuprous ion concentration in each reaction vessel, by increasing the rate at which the cuprous ions are regenerated from the cupric ions without affecting the rate at which the metal values are recovered from the nodules, which in turn, increases the efficiency of each reactor thus enabling the size of reactors to be reduced. In one important embodiment of the invention, the reducing gas is sparged into a series of reaction vessels at increased pressure while the manganese nodules are injected into several vessels simultaneously. This increased pressure of the reducing gas together with the multiple point injection of the manganese nodules greatly increases the efficiency of the process. In another important embodiment of the invention as the reducing gas is sparged into the reaction vessels under increased pressure sufficient heat is removed from the slurry leaving each reaction vessel so that all reaction vessels operate at substantially the same temperature within the range of 35.degree.-55.degree. C. By operating within this temperature range, nickel and cobalt solubilization within the reaction vessels is improved.
