A method for managing mismatches in feedback from guide vane sensors of a turbine engine with variable guide vanes includes selectively muting individual feedback channels and obtaining time series turbine performance data of the turbine engine associated with individual feedback channels. The feedback channel of the guide vane sensor associated with the best performing time series performance data can be selected as sole feedback channel following detection of a mismatch condition.

A method and system for correlating engine thrust and engine thrust lever angle (TLA) during operation of a gas turbine engine powered aircraft is provided. The method includes: a) providing current flight conditions including a Mach number of the aircraft, altitude of the aircraft, and a TLA; b) determining a corrected fan speed value based on a sensed fan speed and flight conditions; c) determining a first corrected net thrust value based on the corrected fan speed value and the Mach number; d) determining a compensation factor using the corrected fan speed value, the Mach number, and the corrected net thrust value; e) determining a second corrected net thrust value as a function of the TLA; and f) correlating an engine fan speed to the TLA using the second corrected net thrust value as a function of the TLA and the compensation factor.

Methods and Systems for monitoring an engine fluid level in a fluid recipient are described. In one example, the method comprises, during a fluid replenishing procedure, detecting when the fluid level reaches a level associated with the recipient being full; in response to the detecting, triggering a timer corresponding to a predetermined number of operating hours of the engine based on a fluid volume capacity of the fluid recipient; when the timer expires, verifying the fluid level; and issuing a first alert signal when the fluid level is at the level associated with the recipient being full and the timer has expired.
