A system for stitching images together is disclosed. The images are sometimes referred to as frames, such as frames in a video sequence. The system comprises one or more imagers (e.g. cameras) that work in coordination with a matching amount of custom code modules. The system achieves image stitching using approximately one third the Field of View (FOV) of each imager (camera) and also by increasing the number of imagers to be above a predetermined threshold. The system displays these stitched images or frames on a computer monitor, either in a still-image context but also in a video-context. Normally these tasks would involve a great detail of computation, but the system achieves these effects while managing the computational load. In stitching the images together, it is sometimes necessary to introduce some image distortion (faceting) in the combined image. The system ensures no gaps in any captured view, and assists in achieving full situational awareness for a viewer.

System and method for image stitching

A method and device for viewing objects situated in fog is disclosed. An optical system directs light from a scene onto a detector array through one or more optical waveband limiting filters. The detector array transfers a succession of captured scene images to an electronic device for processing. These processed images are transferred to a display device. A method and device for demonstrating the inventive optical system is presented.

Method and device for viewing through fog

A configuration, all components of which are man portable in some embodiments, for holding panels to protect assets against external force and impacts from airborne projectiles. An open box-like stackable frame module holds panels along a side of the frame. Multiple frames are connected to construct a protective barrier, such as a wall. Frames include provisions for connection in a vertical configuration so as to allow stacking of the frames to increase the height of the barrier. A method of installing is also provided.

Transportable modular configuration for holding panels

Apparatus and method for calibrating an incoherent fiber optic bundle for use in transmitting visual or infrared coherent images. The apparatus includes a computer, a computer video monitor, an objective lens adjacent to the input end of the bundle, a second lens adjacent the output end of the bundle, and a CCD camera. The camera transmits video data to the monitor to produce an illuminated fiber optic image. The coordinates for the center of each fiber is found through an imaging process and the output fibers coordinates are related to the input fiber coordinates and processed in the computer to produce a mapping lookup-table (LUT) unique to the specific fiber bundle. Remapping of the LUT due to changes in the lens focus, CCD camera, or the addition of an infrared filter is accomplished by a software utility in the computer.
