Disclosed is a waterproofing membrane that comprises a carrier sheet (layer A); a waterproofing adhesive (layer B); a protective coating (layer C), wherein the protective coating is substantially free of surfactant and comprises an acrylic or methacrylic polymer or copolymer, an inorganic filler and a white pigment; and a releasable material (layer D), wherein the releasable material comprises amorphous nanoscale silica and a polymeric binder. The waterproofing membrane does not require a release liner, binds strongly to concrete cast against it (even after UV exposure), tolerates foot traffic, and withstands immersion in water over an extended period.

Disclosed is a waterproofing membrane that comprises a carrier sheet, a pressure sensitive adhesive layer on one surface of the carrier sheet, and a protective coating layer on the adhesive layer. The protective coating layer comprises a highly reflective protective coating layer operative to bond to concrete cast against it, particularly one that is produced from an aqueous coating comprising an acrylic emulsion, a filler, and a white pigment. The pigment volume concentration of the filler plus white pigment is greater than or equal to 40% by volume. The protective coating layer protects the membrane against weather exposure, tolerates foot traffic and strongly adheres to concrete cast against it. The protective coating comprises an acrylic polymer with a unique multi-domain morphology (i.e., at least two distinct polymer domains).

Disclosed is a waterproofing membrane that comprises a carrier sheet, a pressure sensitive adhesive layer on one surface of the carrier sheet, and a protective coating layer on the adhesive layer. The protective coating layer is highly reflective (optionally textured) and operative to bond to concrete cast against it. Preferably, the protective coating layer comprises cement, polymer, and white pigment, and may optionally or additionally include a filler, a UV absorber and an antioxidant. Disclosed are formulations adapted to form a foamed cementitious composition, the foamed cementitious composition itself, a method of forming a hydraulic binder foam, and a method of conveying and applying the resulting foam to a substrate. A pumpable cementitious slurry is formed, the slurry is mixed with a gas such as air, and is subjected to mechanically created turbulence to generate gas bubbles and create a foam, which preferably is stabilized by a foam stabilizing agent such as polyvinyl alcohol present in the slurry. The foam is then conveyed to a nozzle or other suitable dispense point from which it is applied, for example sprayed, preferably uniformly, onto a substrate to be coated. Prior to dispensing, a set accelerator is preferably injected, which causes the foam to gel, which in turn improves the hangability of the product on a substrate. The spray material adheres to the substrate and hardens to form an insulative coating on the substrate. Also disclosed are dry compositions comprising a hydratable cementitious binder, a mechanical foam stabilizing agent, and optionally a fibrous component, set retarder and air entraining agent, said composition providing, on the addition of water, gas and mechanical turbulence, a settable foam which is capable of spray application to a steel structural member and which, after spray application, is adherent to the member in the foamed state and after setting. The foam after setting, forms a fire and heat protective adherent coating on the member.

A process for pressure swing adsorption of oxygen from a gas mixture containing at least oxygen and nitrogen to recover an unadsorbed nitrogen enriched product from a plurality of parallel piped adsorbent beds undergoing adsorption, depressurization and repressurization wherein the improvement is conducting a pressure transfer from one bed to another from an intermediate point of the bed finishing adsorption to a point closer to the feed end of a bed that is repressurizing to improve productivity and recovery of nitrogen enriched gas in the process.

The present invention is a nitrogen pressure swing adsorption process for separating gas mixtures containing nitrogen and oxygen, such as air, using a unique gas transfer process step, continuous feed gas introduction and an appropriate isolation step with continued product purge/repressurization to achieve high purity nitrogen product of 99.9% or greater by volume nitrogen, preferably 99.99% or greater by volume of nitrogen.
