Systems and apparatuses for regulating a multi-phase fluid stream flowing from a subterranean geological formation, and related methods are described herein. The system and apparatus generally include a conduit defining a flow path for the fluid stream, the conduit further defining a first restriction having a throat portion, and the conduit further defining a first return path including an inlet positioned downstream of the first restriction and an outlet positioned upstream of the inlet of the first return path. Related methods include placing the apparatus or system within a wellbore conduit defined by a wellbore.

Apparatuses and systems for regulating flow from a geological formation, and related methods

A device and method for inhibiting particle (e.g., sand) accumulation on down hole equipment, such as an ESP, particularly when the equipment is not in use. The device and methods permit the equipment to start and stop with fewer break downs and at greater efficiency. The device includes a central tubular section connecting the equipment to the production tubing string. The tubular section is surrounded by an annulus and a number of ports in the tubular section angled to allow fluid communication between the tubular section and the annulus during operation, but prevent particles from flowing from the annulus into the tubular section when not in use. A check valve between the tube and ESP assists in isolating the ESP from sand.

Apparatus and method for preventing particle interference of downhole devices

An artificial lift system for use in a wellbore comprising a torsion clamp connected to an electric submersible pump. The torsion clamp comprises a mandrel, a splined sleeve, a stop, a bypass sleeve, and an adjustable bracket. The mandrel has splines that mesh with splines formed on the sleeve. The mandrel also has a coupling that connects to a coupling of the stop. The adjustable bracket is configured to connect the bypass sleeve to the splined sleeve.

Torsion clamp

A Y-tool for use in a wellbore includes: a stem having a bore formed therethrough, a port formed through a wall thereof, and a coupling formed at each end thereof; a branch fastened to the stem and having a passage formed therethrough in fluid communication with the stem port and a coupling formed at an end thereof; and a gasket sealing an interface of the stem port and branch passage.

Methods and apparatus for sensing wellbore conditions in artificial lift wells using low profile sensors that are installed on down hole production equipment that makes them easier to install and retrieve. In one embodiment, low profile sensors are installed on a rod string making their insertion and removal much easier than it would be if they were mounted on production tubing. The sensors can be attached directly to the rod string or can be attached to a cable that is attached to the rod string. The sensors can transmit their data electrically through the cable or through the rod string. Alternatively, the sensors can transmit their data acoustically through the rod string.
