Disclosed are various embodiments for methods and systems for three-dimensional imaging of subject particles in media through use of dark-field microscopy. Some examples, among others, include a method for obtaining a three-dimensional (3D) volume image of a sample, a method for determining a 3D location of at least one subject particle within a sample, a method for determining at least one spatial correlation between a location of at least one subject particle and a location of at least one cell structure within a cell and/or other similar biological or nonbiological structure, a method of displaying a location of at least one subject particle, method for increasing the dynamic range of a 3D image acquired from samples containing weak and strong sources of light, and method for sharpening a 3D image in a vertical direction.

A knitted surgical mesh formed from a yarn. The knitted mesh has from about 40 to about 80 courses per inch and from about 7 to 11 wales per inch, and a pore size percentage greater than 50%.

Ranges of objects are determined using a camera equipped with a rotating optical axis displacement unit (ODU). The ODU receives light about an offset line of sight, and displaces it to a substantially parallel camera line of sight. The displaced light is focussed onto an image sensor. Images of a scene are captures as the ODU rotates. Range information is calculated from the apparent motion of objects in the captured images.

A knitted surgical mesh formed from a yarn. The knitted mesh has from 18 to 24 courses per inch and from 5 12 to 16 wales per inch, a flexibility of from 400-950 mg-cm/cm, a burst strength greater than 175 pounds per square inch, and a pore size percentage greater than 37%.

In a scarfed nacelle inlet for channeling airflow to an engine having a longitudinal center line axis (ENGINE C/L), the duct including a crown (26) and a keel (28), an improvement including an inlet with a biplanar forward hilite. When viewed in side elevation, the biplanar hilite includes a first portion (40) including the keel, a second portion (42) including the crown, and a transition region (44) between the first and second portions. The first and second portions (40), (42) are linear and the transition region (44) is a single arc. An imaginary intersection line (IP) between the first and second portions is located vertically about midway between the crown and the keel.

A phased array design in the shape of a logarithmic spiral. By distributing the elements of the array along a logarithmic spiral-shaped curve, spatial regularities are avoided and the array is therefore able to function over a wide frequency range.

Noise attenuating linings for a turbofan engine inlet are installed around the upper crown area and/or around the lower lip. The acoustical lining at the upper crown area attenuates those fan noise emissions which are normally reflected from the crown area downward toward the ground. The acoustical lining at the lower inlet lip attenuates those fan noise emissions which travel along the inner surface of the lip and are diffracted around the lower lip downward toward the ground.
