A light-weight, easily portable luggage combination is described. The combination comprises a garment bag and a general purpose bag and optionally a utility bag, wherein the garment bag and general purpose bag may be reversibly secured together or used separately if desired. The combination provides for a first interior space in the garment bag so that hanging clothes can be stored in the garment bag and a second interior space in the general purpose bag so that other items (for example, clothing, shoes, accessories, and toiletries) can be stored separately from the hanging clothes.

An item of expandable luggage includes a substantially rigid main peripheral frame and a substantially rigid secondary peripheral frame. A peripherally continuous gusset of flexible material is connected between the two peripheral frames. Opposite wall panels of the main peripheral frame are joined to corresponding opposite wall panels of the secondary peripheral frame by bridge assemblies, one such assembly being associated with each of the opposite wall panels of the respective frames. Each bridge assembly includes a receiving member affixed to the wall panel of the first component, the receiving member having an aperture therein, and a substantially rigid bridge plate affixed to the wall panel of the second component and slidably received by the receiving members, the plate having a first and second tongue capable of cooperating with the aperture.

A luggage item has a frame that includes a top pan and a bottom pan that are joined by towing bar-receiving tubes. A body of flexible material is fitted to the frame. The frame and body are free of elements along the top wall, bottom wall and the side walls that inhibit folding of the top wall, bottom wall and the side walls along fold lines intermediate the front wall and back wall so that the front part of the bag can be collapsed toward the back wall to substantially reduce the volume of the bag.

A zipper closure system is disclosed comprising one or more slider bodies with a reinforced bracing integrated with a lock eyelet, a closed bail, slider body top and bottom platforms and a slider body diamond. A releasing pull tab assembly comprised of a pull tab channeled to receive a pull tab connector attaches to the slider body. The connector's head portion encompasses the slider body's bail and the connector's lower portion is mated with the pull tab securely attaching connector to the pull tab. At a predetermined force, the connector will release from the pull tab, releasing the slider body with no loss of functionality. The other components are designed to withstand a force in excess of the predetermined force. This release prevents damage to other components. The predetermined release force ranges from 25 to 200 pounds in alternate embodiments. A consumer can easily repair the unit by mating the original or replacement connector piece with the pull tab. The pull tab can be retro fit to other slider body systems. A lock eyelet designed to dock with a facing, opposing lock eyelet in a flush manner so as to lock without twisting the slider bodies is also disclosed. In another embodiment, a lock eyelet is designed to dock in a flush manner with a seam lock eyelet so as to lock without twisting seam lock or slider body. The seam lock is attached to a reinforced seam at the end of the zipper track.

A compound autogyro has a unique system of rotor blade retraction and vectored thrust. Redundant thrust systems provide for emergency conditions. Located in the upper mast are twin gas lines leading to a hub section of the rotor. In the hub, they divide the mass flow into two additional gas lines reaching to the tip ends of rigid rotor blades. A revolving, upper section of the rotor mast is attached to a lower, non-rotating section by a spherical bearing. Directly beneath this attach bearing is a distribution plenum, which receives the mass flow from each of three or four turbofan engines. To achieve high levels of propulsion, the turbofans are equipped with vectoring vanes that direct the mass flow to a plenum or, in the alternative, out a jet pipe for conventional flight. Another set of vectoring vanes can direct the mass flow downwardly, in case of a serious failure upon takeoff.

A garment bag is provided with a single reinforcing member which extends across the top end of the bag. A carrying handle, a hanger for hanging the bag from a support, and a trolley for hanging garments within the garment bag are all connected directly to the reinforcing member so that the reinforcing member supports the entire weight of the garment bag and its contents both when the bag is hanging in an extended configuration from a support and when the bag is being carried from place to place in a folded configuration. A stiffening member which extends across the width of the bag in the bottom portion thereof and which lies adjacent the top end of the bag when the bag is in a folded configuration prevents the bottom portion of the bag from sagging to present a neat appearance. The use of a single reinforcing member enables the garment bag to be lighter in weight, easier to use and less costly to manufacture.

A throat microphone consists of a dynamic pressure transducer sealed within an airtight tympanic enclosure to be held by an elastic band on the user's throat near the voice box. The electrical signals generated by the transducer are applied as an input signal to an amplifier and speaker unit where the signal is conditioned by a preamplifier stage for further amplification by a second stage that contains a variable reactive negative feedback network that acts as a low pass filter and corrects the phase shift of the different lower frequency audio signal components while emphasizing the higher frequency components so that severe phase distortion of the signal applied to the drive speaker through an output power amplifier stage can be minimized to make the speech sounds reproduced more intelligible.
