A display device mount adapter includes a mounting plate having a mounting interface, and an engagement tongue connected to and spaced from the mounting plate, such that the engagement tongue is to engage a slot of a display device to secure the mount adapter to the display device.

A flat-panel display stand in accordance with the present invention includes a modular assembly for supporting a display on a horizontal surface so that the display tilt can be adjusted by the user. The stand has a modular design with only two modules: a retainer clip and supporting leg that are uniquely hinged together and connected to the rear of the display.

A height adjustment mechanism for electronic equipment is disclosed. The height adjustment mechanism includes a first sliding component that includes a first set of mechanical structures for engaging a second set of mechanical structures, a first mechanical sub-component coupled to the first sliding component and coupled to a second mechanical sub-component that includes the second set of mechanical structures and a second sliding component coupled to the first sliding component. The first set of mechanical structures and the second set of mechanical structures are configured to mesh. A movement of the first sliding component causes either an expansion or a retraction of the first mechanical sub-component.

A label display system includes a deployable label base to display labels, such as regulatory and/or certification marking labels, for an electronic and/or portable computing device. The deployable label base moves between a first position and a second position, where the labels are viewable in the first position, and where at least some of the labels are concealed from view in the second position. The deployable label base includes a first side to display labels and at least a second side to display labels. The deployable label base can be flexible and include or encase a security cable to secure the electronic and/or portable computing device.

An electronic device of an embodiment of the invention is disclosed that includes a housing and an electronic mechanism. The housing has one or more cavities for removably storing speakers, which are intended for non-use when stored in the cavities. The electronic mechanism is fixably situated within the housing.

Upon activation of a portable computer, a check is made to see if a user has indicated a reduced operating system is to be used. If the user has indicated the reduced operating system is to be used, the reduced operating system is activated. The reduced operating system is stored within a special memory area within the portable computer. The reduced operating system uses less system resources than a full function operating system for the portable computer. If the computer is activated and the user has not indicated the reduced operating system is to be used, the full function operating system of the portable computer is activated.

A label display system includes a foldable label base to display labels, such as regulatory and/or certification marking labels, for an electronic and/or portable computing device. The foldable label base moves between a first position and a second position, where the labels are viewable in the first position, and where at least some of the labels are concealed from view in the second position. A docking station for a portable computer contains a platform and a movable guide bar connected to the docking station and extending over the platform. The guide bar is capable of guiding the portable computer into proper alignment with the docking station when the portable computer is placed on the guide bar and pressed downwardly into the platform. The guide bar may contain a thermally conductive guide protrusion capable of mating with a heat sink on the portable computer. Heat is transferred from the heat sink on the portable computer to the guide protrusion on the guide bar. The guide bar itself may also be thermally conductive, providing a further avenue for heat to be transferred from the portable computer to the docking station.

This invention describes an electronic device having a pointing device consisting of a first portion and a second portion. The second portion of the pointing device is separable from the first and is configured to be stored in an opening formed in the electronic device. The opening formed in the electronic device is configured to receive the second portion of the pointing device once the second portion of the pointing device is separated from the first. Additionally, a method for configuring the pointing device and storing the second portion of the pointing device inside of the electronic device is described.
