A sheetrock panel cutting device that is attachable to the end of a conventional metal tape ruler and uses that same tape ruler to not only measure the opening but to also guide the cut of a sheetrock panel while accomplishing both these functions without removing the tape ruler therefrom. A utility knife is inserted into a preformed slot in a base plate which causes the blade of the knife to be aligned juxtaposed to the right angle clip of the tape ruler. The blade protrudes through the base plate and which is directly mounted against the right angle ruler end clip. The device is used to cut a rectangular panel of sheetrock of predetermined size from a full sheet by holding the utility knife, which is positioned in the device, against the sheetrock paper surface with one hand while grasping the metal tape ruler surface, at a previously measured position on the tape, with the other hand against the edge of the sheetrock panel. Once positioned, the workman draws both hands in parallel motion across the surface of the panel, pressing the utility knife into the surface of the sheetrock with one hand and thereby causing the blade of the knife to cut through the sheetrock paper covering, while maintaining contact with the measured position of the ruler against the edge of the sheetrock panel with the remaining hand.

Sheetrock panel cutting device

A reflectometer tuning unit for a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system, provided for the standing wave voltage adjustment of various MRI receive coil units, and which is also capable of detection of various open/short fault conditions in the MRI receive coil unit or the coaxial cable connected to the MRI receive coil unit. The reflectometer tuning unit comprises an oscillator, a directional coupler, and a measuring system. The oscillator produces an output signal having its frequency tuned to the Larmor frequency of the magnetic resonance imaging system. The directional coupler has OUT, IN and CPL ports. The output of the oscillator is connected to the OUT port, and selected impedances, and later the receive coil unit, are connected to the IN port. The directional coupler produces an output signal at the CPL port which is proportional to the port of energy reflected back from the IN port to the OUT port, which is also proportional to the impedance mismatch presented by the impedance at the IN port. The measuring system is connected to the CPL port of the directional coupler, and measures the magnitude of the output signal at the CPL port. The measuring system of the reflectometer tuning unit includes a rectifying detector connected to the CPL port of the directional coupler, which provides a DC voltage output. An amplifier is connected to the output of the rectifying detector, and an LED display is connected to the output of the amplifier.

Magnetic resonance imaging reflectometer tuning unit

A three-dimensional computer image variable perspective display system provides for the real-time perspective control of a three-dimensional computer generated image controlled by the head movements of a computer operator viewing the image. The system includes an ultrasonic transmitter module worn on the head of the computer operator, a set of ultrasonic receivers mounted on or near the computer display monitor, and a computer interface unit. The ultrasonic transmitter transmits sound waves towards the display monitor which are detected by the ultrasonic receivers and processed by the computer interface unit. The computer interface unit calculates the elapsed times between the transmission and reception of the sound waves and converts this information into digital data words. The quantative magnitude of these data words represent in direct proportion, the instantaneous distance between the ultrasonic transmitter and the ultrasonic receivers. This distance information interacts with rotational axis algorithms used to control the three-dimensional display to cause the image to change it's perspective view in correspondence to the movement of the computer operator's head, in a manner exactly analogous to viewing three-dimensional objects in nature.

Three-dimensional computer image variable perspective display system

A magnetic resonance imaging receiver system for producing high resolution images of the foot and ankle regions of a human subject. The magnetic resonance imaging receiver comprises an antenna for receiving resonance signals produced by a magnetic resonance imaging, radio frequency excitation magnetic apparatus, a free standing foot cradle assembly for supporting and rigidly holding the foot and ankle of the subject, and a tuning/impedance matching circuit for providing for the maximum transfer of radio frequency energy from the antenna to the receiver unit in the magnetic resonance imaging, radio frequency excitation magnet apparatus. The system utilizes fixed local coils which operate in the receive only mode for receiving electromagnetic signals from resonating nuclei produced by a whole body MRI scanner system or the like to produce high quality images.

Magnetic resonance imaging foot coil assembly

A support device for supporting first and second units has an instrument platform having first and second spaced opposite parallel planar surfaces. The instrument platform is rotatably supported for rotation about an axis of rotation. A first joining subassembly pivotally mounts the first unit on the first surface of the instrument platform for rotation about an axis spaced from and parallel to the axis of rotation. A first pair of locking devices lock the first unit in abutting relation to the first surface in locked position and release the first unit to hang freely at various angles with the first surface in unlocked position whereby the first unit is in playing position when the instrument platform is horizontal with the first surface up and in stored position, hanging from the first surface, when the instrument platform is horizontal with the first surface down. A second joining subassembly pivotally mounts the second unit on the second surface of the instrument platform for rotation about an axis spaced from and parallel to the axis of rotation. A second pair of locking devices lock the second unit in abutting relation to the second surface in locked position and release the second unit to hang freely vertically with the second surface in unlocked position whereby the second unit is in playing position when the instrument platform is horizontal with the second surface up and in stored position, hanging from the second surface, when the instrument platform is horizontal with the second surface down.

Musical keyboard instrument support device

An edging alignment tool resting atop a piece of wood to be edged is adjusted until the edge of an alignment bar coincides with the line on the piece of wood along which it is desired to cut. A gripping surface on the underside of the alignment tool is pressed into abrasive contact with the piece of wood. The alignment bar is moved out of the way and a guide rail is slid along the saw fence. The piece of wood is severed by the saw along the line indicated by the alignment bar.
