A sliding vehicle center console is provided. The center console may include an elongated rack, including an elongated rack, defining a plurality of teeth, a carrier member coupled to the rack, and a gearbox assembly including a pinion configured to rotate in a first or a second direction to translate the carrier member and the elongated rack from a first position to a second position. The sliding vehicle center console may also include a controller configured to change the rotation of the pinion from one of the first or second directions to the other directions, responsive to a comparison of a sensor value to a threshold condition.

A drive assembly of a motor vehicle for the motor-driven adjustment of a flap, in particular a side door, of the motor vehicle by means of linear drive movements, wherein the drive assembly has a drive unit for generating the linear drive movements, which is assigned a drive with at least one drive motor and a feed transmission, in particular a spindle/-spindle nut transmission, that is drivingly connected to the drive. The drive assembly has a support structure which receives the drive unit such that it can swivel about a geometric supporting swivel shaft, such that the drive unit and the support structure are connected to form a pre-assembly unit which can be mounted as such via the support structure in a mounting position on the motor vehicle, in particular on the flap or on the motor vehicle body.

In some cases the outer housing of the spindle drive housing accommodates the drive unit with the drive unit housing and is connected to the drive unit.

A method for producing a spindle drive for an adjustable element of a vehicle, wherein the spindle drive has a substantially tubular spindle drive housing and two connections for diverting driving movements, wherein at least one connection of the spindle drive has a connection head which is connected to the spindle drive via a connection neck which is thinner than the connection head. A sealing cap for the spindle drive housing is provided with a sealing opening, in order to install the sealing cap, the sealing cap is pulled with the sealing opening thereof over the connection head of a connection of the spindle drive, and the peripheral region of the sealing opening is elastically deformed by the engagement with the connection head and is therefore widened, and that the peripheral region of the sealing opening is subsequently deformed back elastically in frictionally sealing engagement with the connection neck.

To reduce stresses during closing of a manually closable body component, e.g. a door, a control device and a method of controlling closing movement in which, during the closing movement, from an opened position, the body component passes through first movement range in which the body component is moved towards the closed position without any action by a control member, and, thereafter, the body component passes through a second movement range in which the closing movement is varied by the action of the control member that residual kinetic energy of the body component does not exceed a predetermined limit value after passing through the second movement range, irrespective of the initial speed. The residual kinetic energy is not sufficient to close the body component automatically, so it is automatically drawn in a third movement range until a pre catch or main catch of a lock is reached.
