A strand trimmer and method of use thereof. The strand trimmer includes a pair of pivotable arms each having a motor, a follower wheel, and a cutter-spindle assembly disposed thereon. The arms are biased toward one another and are guided by the follower wheels to pivot around obstacles passing between the arms. The motor rotates the cutter-spindle assembly to move cutting strands extending therefrom through a cutting path with sufficient rotational velocity to cut vegetation. The cutter-spindle assembly includes a reloadable spool and a strand-feed mechanism. The strand-feed mechanism includes a solenoid actuated plunger within a shaft of the cutter-spindle assembly which operates to non-contactingly actuate the plunger to feed out a length of strand. The solenoid is non-rotatably carried on the trimmer arm while the shaft of the cutter-spindle assembly is encircled by and rotated within the solenoid.

Strand feed mechanism for a strand trimmer

A spacer element is provided to support an anode on a metallic reinforcement bar, such as a rebar. The spacer element includes a bar supporting body and an adjustable fastening body that are integrally formed, and a separate anode supporting body that is connectable to the bar supporting body. The bar supporting body includes a circumferential wall having resilient tines that extend radially inwardly to engage the rebar. The adjustable fastening body includes a toothed rib that is engageable with a toothed portion of the circumferential wall to contract the circumferential wall securely around the inserted rebar. The rib may be disengaged from the circumferential wall to open the wall and enable insertion of the rebar. The anode supporting body has a resilient prong that is rotatable when received in the bar supporting body enabling the anode supporting body to be rotatable relative to the bar supporting body.

A strand trimmer and method of use thereof. The strand trimmer includes a pair of pivotable arms each having a motor, a follower wheel, and a cutter-spindle assembly disposed thereon. The arms are biased toward one another and are guided by the follower wheels to pivot around obstacles passing between the arms. The motor rotates the cutter-spindle assembly to move cutting strands extending therefrom through a cutting path with sufficient rotational velocity to cut vegetation. The cutter-spindle assembly includes a spool and a strand-feed mechanism. The spool is oriented to rotate about a horizontal axis. The strand-feed mechanism includes a solenoid actuated plunger within a shaft of the cutter-spindle assembly. The plunger engages the spool to control rotation of the spool and thereby feeding out of incremental lengths of the strand.

A portable transparency viewer including a body having a fixed imaging screen with a light source disposed therebehind within the viewer body. Also held within the viewer body is a selectively energizable power source for illuminating the imaging screen. An adjustable magnifier is pivotally attached to the viewer body overlying screen in movable and parallel spaced relation thereto. For viewing slides and filmstrips, an auxiliary removable magnifier is provided which is adapted to be releasably engaged and retained on the viewer body over the viewing screen. The auxiliary magnifier includes a slide carrier for selectively introducing slides between the lens of the auxiliary magnifier and the imaging screen of the viewer body. The auxiliary magnifier further includes an inlet and an outlet positioned on opposite sides of the housing so as to permit the passage of a filmstrip therethrough.

X-Ray and photographic viewer

A portable, easy to use photographic viewer for use particularly by medical and dental professionals when required. The viewer is light weight and includes a light source, a photographic imaging screen, clip to retain the photographic slides or negatives in position and a support for maintaining the viewer in any desirable position.

A traction mat to aid vehicle wheels for driving out of ice, snow, mud or sand and the like that is an elongated unitary stamped metal structure which is generally rectangular and having a forward inwardly tapered end portion with the mat including a plurality of upwardly extending flanges disposed at 90.degree. with respect to the planer surface and a plurality of downwardly projecting V-shaped gripping lugs. The mat outer side edges are formed with trough shaped ribs for stiffening and the upwardly extending flanges and downwardly shaped gripping lugs are provided with structurally formed ribbing to increase the rigidity for placement and use in a variety of terrains.
