A container glass composition that reduces U.V. light transmission below a wavelength of about 400 nanometers, the composition having melting and forming properties similar to soda-lime-silica glass and containing SiO.sub.2, CaO, MgO, K.sub.2 O, SO.sup.-.sub.3, and a U.V. absorbing amount of about 0.4 to 0.8 weight percent FeO+Fe.sub.2 O.sub.3, and about 2 to 4 weight percent of MnO+MnO.sub.2.

UV absorbing container glass compositions

A solid film lubricant composition for hot glass contacting surfaces of glass handling equipment and metal molds used in manufacturing glass articles. The solid film lubricant composition is a solution of a solvent, graphite, a solvent-soluble, further curable organopolysiloxane, and NaOH to make the solution alkaline. The solution is easily sprayed on hot glass contacting surfaces such as the interior of the molds to form a coating that is curable at room temperature.

Solid film lubricant compositions

A fluid collection apparatus is disclosed which is useful in separating blood serum or plasma from blood cellular and particulate matter. The apparatus includes an elongate hollow body having a self-sealing septum sealingly disposed within one end thereof and a piston having an axially projecting hollow piercing element adapted to pierce the septum and provide communication with the interior of the hollow body. The piston includes a laterally extending flange for sealing engagement with the interior of a container for containing the mixture to be treated. After the hollow body and the associated piston assembly is inserted into the container the flange of the piston is engaged with the inner wall of the container causing the composite piston apparatus to remain in and seal a sample within the container.
