An indirect manual transmission for a motor vehicle having cross-country mobility includes a cross-country reduction stage connected behind the transmission unit. At least one control gear wheel constructed as a loose wheel is provided on its input shaft. This control gear wheel is constructed as a twin gear wheel and is used as a countershaft for the reduction stage. With this coaxial arrangement of the countershaft, the indirect manual transmission has a particularly compact construction.

Indirect manual transmission for motor vehicles having cross-country

A crankshaft bearing for internal-combustion engines is provided in an internal-combustion engine housing made of a light metal alloy and comprises a bearing bore for a crankshaft journal of a crankshaft. The crankshaft bearing is provided with a device that reduces the increase in bearing play that occurs during the operation of the internal-combustion engine. This device includes a compensating element which is provided between the bearing bore and the crankshaft journal and has a relatively high coefficient of expansion.

An assembly bearing structure of a motor vehicle which is favorable in crash situations includes a holding arrangement disposed on the vehicle body. This holding arrangement includes a carrying member supported on the vehicle body as well as an elastically connected longitudinal support which is provided with a catch device for a front-side end of a transmission case and has at least one energy-absorbing deformation area.

A shifting arrangement for an automatic transmission has a selector lever guided in a shifting channel by which various transmission gears can be preselected. The forward gears can be shifted by hand by a manual gear selecting device. The gear selecting device is arranged on the selector lever or is constructed, for example, as a steering column switch. A shifting arrangement for an automatic transmission of a motor vehicle controlled by an electronic control apparatus includes a selector lever to be operated manually. By displacement of the selector lever in a first shifting lane, the different transmission speeds can be selected. After shifting the shifting lever by way of a transverse lane into a second shifting lane, the desired forward speed can be manually engaged by means of the same. The shifting operation is picked up by means of a sensor which influences a shifting unit. The shifting unit effects the maintenance of an actually engaged transmission speed during a change of the shifting lane.

A planetary transmission having a centrifugal brake is connected into a vehicle drive line and, when there is a rotational speed difference between an input shaft and an output shaft, transmits torque to the output shaft. Due to a special mounting of the input shaft and the output shaft of the planetary transmission, the occurring forces and torques are transmitted effectively, in which the case the parts of the planetary transmission can be manufactured in a cost-effective way and are easy to assemble.

An all wheel drive for a motor vehicle including a limited slip intermediate differential arranged between the front and rear axles of the vehicle. A plate clutch is included for providing a rotational moment as a function of the rotational speed difference relationship characteristic, to be transferred to the front axle from the rear axle which is different from the rotational moment transferred to the rear axle from the front axle.

Transmission system with intermediate differential for all-wheel drive

A limited slip differential system in the drive train of a motor vehicle with continuous all-wheel drive is provided with a direct through drive acted on by an intermediate planetary transmission and an engageable braking device. The transmission ratio between the planetary transmission and the braking device is substantially higher than the transmission ratio for the direct through drive. This keeps the required braking moment small and allows the use of a relatively small braking device.

Limited slip differential system for a motor vehicle with all-wheel drive

An arrangement for a four wheel drive motor vehicle which increases the rotational moment transfer from the front axle to the rear axle in the case of a large rotational speed differential between the two axles. The arrangement includes a lamella or plate clutch arranged between the front axle and the rear axle. The front axle is directly driven by the gear change transmission and the rear axle is indirectly driven by the front axle. A one way clutch and a reducing transmission are interposed with respect to the plate clutch in such a way that the characteristic curve for rotational moment transfer versus axle rotational speed differential exhibits a flat slope during normal driving conditions (relatively small speed differentials) and an increasingly steep slope during hazardous driving conditions (relatively large speed differentials).

A differential gear for motor vehicles with four bevel gears in meshing engagement, of which one each is coordinated to a respective one of the two axle output shafts; a lamellae package is arranged on the bevel gear of one axle output shaft, which is adapted to be clutched by an engaging clutch built-in within the area of the bevel gear of the other axle output shaft for the frictional connection and locking of the differential.
