A system and method for multimodal contribution and management of multi-domainal reference data is disclosed. A processor executes an application that utilizes distribution and lookup services on an authoritative data cache to confirm that a reference data record or attribute does not exist and creates a message compliant with a standardized information message (SIM) format; and inspects the contents of the SIM to determine the domain of the data and transmits the message to a corresponding domainal reference data system of record among a plurality of reference data systems within a federated reference data system. A receiving domain system acts as a system of record to one or more reference data domain classes related to the reference data; and initiates the processes of storing, versioning, and publication of the reference data for the domain of reference data for which the reference data system is being designated a system of record.

System and method for multimodal reference data contribution and management using straight through processing

Embodiments relate to generating database sequences in a replicated database environment. An aspect includes providing a group of nodes each hosting an instance of a replicated database, with one node in the group elected as a master node responsible for generating and distributing values for auto-generated values in a column or row of the replicated database. Another aspect includes dividing, by the master node, a sequence space of possible auto-generated values for the column or row into sub-ranges and assigning a sub-range to a particular node in the group of nodes. Another aspect includes distributing, by the master node, values of the assigned sub-range to a particular node of the group of nodes.

A method, apparatus, and computer program product for assigning data to columnar storage is disclosed. In one aspect of the invention, a computer implemented method is provided comprising analyzing, on one or more computers, a database stored in a storage system accessible from the one or more computers. The method also comprises determining, on one or more computers, one or more database elements from the database to be assigned to a columnar storage in the database and assigning, on one or more computers, the one or more database elements to the columnar storage in the database. The one or more database elements to be assigned to the columnar storage is determined based on at least one of a table dimension, entity relationship, compatibility with a specified schema structure, relational data structure of the database, access statistics of the database element or incoming query workload of the database element.

System and method for assigning data to columnar storage in an online transactional system

The invention relates to a computer-implemented system and method for providing data services to a user via a best fit data matching application programming interface (API). The method may comprise exposing to the user, via the API, data services that are available electronically to the user. The data services are invoked with a query comprising a set of parameters. An automated query processing service is used to automatically analyze the parameters and match the parameters to a best electronic data source among a plurality of electronic data sources using a metadata store. The step of matching the parameters to the best electronic data source is based on a data quality metric, a date range and user permissions. The retrieved dataset, which is automatically presented to the user electronically via the API, can also be customized to include client-specific data elements.
