A method includes transforming, based on a first transform, a first markup language document associated with a first version of a schema to generate a second markup language document associated with a second version of the schema. The second markup language document is representative of a third markup language document associated with the second version of the schema and the first transform represents a transform from the first version of the schema to the second version of the schema. The method further includes comparing the second markup language document to the third markup language document to identify whether at least one discrepancy exists between the second markup language document and the third markup language document. The method additionally includes determining a suitability of the first transform based on the comparison of the second markup language document to the third markup language document.

A method and an apparatus is provided for managing a set of expansion icons and associated information so that the user can selectively open and close expansion icons with a minimum of network bandwidth. In a preferred embodiment, an expansion flag and the information location is maintained for each expansion icon and information is downloaded on an &ldquo;on demand&rdquo; basis. Once an item has been opened and the information downloaded, the information location is changed to a local memory address. The associated information may be in a variety of multimedia formats, including text, URLs, audio, video, or picture information. It is possible to open several expansion icons at the same time while keeping other icons closed. When an expansion icon is closed, the expansion flag is set to false and information location is reset to a server location. In an alternative embodiment, all of the information associated with the expansion icons is downloaded at the time the web page is accessed. Opening and closing icons after this initial download is based on information stored in local memory. In either embodiment, even time an expansion icon is changed, the system scans through all expansion icons and for those with an expansion flag set to true, uses the associated information location to display the additional information.

Method and apparatus to selectively define java virtual machine initialization properties using a browser graphical user interface

A method and a system employing the method is disclosed for detecting and qualifying a portion of a digital image stored in a computer-readable memory with respect to a reference digital image. The method and system accesses video memory of a video controller device, retrieves a portion of the rasterized image, and compares the portion of the image on a pixel-by-pixel basis for approximate match to the reference image. Because graphics accelerators in video controller devices render inexact graphic images which are nonetheless visually acceptable, the method and system further employs a step of comparison for a match on a pixel region basis. A method of comparison wherein the reference pixel and the pixel or pixels under analysis is disclosed which plots the pixels in three-dimensional space defined by the color palette variables, allowing a pixel to &ldquo;match&rdquo; the reference pixel if it's position within the three-dimensional color space is within a certain radius of the reference pixel's position.

System and method for image detection and qualification

A method in a data processing system for selecting a Java virtual machine for use with a browser. A user is prompted for an input, wherein input identifies a virtual machine to be used with the browser. A profile is altered for the browser to include an identification of the virtual machine identified by the input. The profile is used to select a virtual machine for use with the browser.
