A system for controlling a defrost cycle of an evaporator having a sensor module and a control module. The sensor module includes a light source configured to emit light toward the evaporator when activated and to deactivate in response to a lockout signal. The sensor module also includes a light sensor configured to determine an amount of the emitted light reflected by the evaporator and to generate a detected light signal that corresponds to the amount of the emitted light reflected by the evaporator. The control module is configured to receive the detected light signal from the light sensor and to compare the detected light signal to a preset threshold. The control module is also configured to generate a termination signal when the detected light signal is less than the preset threshold and to generate the lockout signal when the detected light signal is greater than the preset threshold.

System for defrost termination

A refrigeration system includes a normal refrigerant path arranged between a condenser and an evaporator, and an assist refrigerant path arranged between the condenser and the evaporator, wherein the assist refrigerant path is activated during low ambient conditions. The assist refrigerant path may include a solenoid valve and an expansion valve arranged between the condenser and the evaporator. The assist refrigerant path may be adapted to regulate the evaporator temperature.

Refrigeration system having supplemental refrigerant path

A temperature alarm system includes a temperature sensing module and an alarm circuit that are powered by a photocell and a battery that is charged by the photocell. The photocell normally provides enough power to operate the system and charge the battery. When the temperature sensing module senses a temperature that exceeds a predetermined alarm limit, it generates an alarm signal which activates an alarm circuit that generates a visual and/or audible alarm either immediately after the alarm signal is generated, or after the alarm signal has been generated for a period of time. The generation of the alarm signal and/or the alarm causes the system power consumption to increase, so the system begins to draw power from the battery. After the alarm condition is corrected, the system returns to normal power consumption, and the photocell provides enough power to operate the system and charge the battery.

Easy to install temperature alarm system

An open door warning system for a vehicle includes an open door detector mounted on the vehicle, which detects when the door is left open, and a light module mounted on a side of the vehicle and operatively coupled to the detector. The light module is preferably aligned with a driver side rear view mirror so that the driver can view the light module through the rear view mirror. The light module includes a light source which is driven by the detector to generate a flashing warning light when the door is left open. This warning light can be seen by the driver through the rear view mirror and thereby be warned of the open door situation. The detector includes a magnetically actuated switch controlled by a magnet attached to a top edge of the door. The switch is mounted on the vehicle to be juxtaposed to the magnet when the door is closed. The switch is coupled to a power module which includes a light driver circuit, a rechargeable battery pack, and a solar cell to keep the battery pack charged. The light driver circuit is coupled to the light module to transmit a warning signal thereto, which in turn causes the light module to flash.

Vehicle open door warning system

The power cable includes an elongated cable having a plurality of conductors extending therewithin and first and second connectors positioned at respective ends of the elongated cable. Each connector includes a plurality of contacts which are connected to corresponding conductors within the cable. An alarm member is integrally associated with the cable and includes an audible alarm which is responsive to an alarm switch positioned within either the first or the second connector. A battery powered alarm system may also be provided to actuate when the cable is disconnected from the a.c. outlet.

A bicycle type seat having a shell, preferably resilient material or padding thereon, and a top cover on the resilient material or padding. The seat has a wide rear portion and a relatively narrow nose extending forward of the rear portion in a longitudinal direction. There is at least one reinforcing strut which extends longitudinally and is secured to the seat adjacent the nose and the rear portion. There is provided a support which includes at least one tab and side portions. The side portions extend on the lower surface of the shell substantially corresponding to the shape of the rear portion of the seat. The tab extends from the side portions over the upper surface of the shell. A fitted portion of the top cover is located between the support and the shell whereby a clamping action is exerted thereon. In manufacture, the support secures the rear portion of the top cover to the shell and permits the remainder of the top cover to be stretched forward and press-fitted around the rest of the shell. In addition, by suitable selection of the material of which the support is made, the degree of resilience of the finished seat can be predetermined.

Cycle computer

A cycle computer has a pair of push-buttons connected respectively to a mode switch and to an on/off switch. Sequential actuation of the mode switch places the computer selectively in one of a plurality of Modes including a 'stop watch' mode. Alternate actuation of the on/off switch, while in the stop watch mode, turns the stop watch function on and off. Simultaneous depression of both push-buttons, while the computer is in stop watch mode, resets the stop watch mode and at least two other modes. To facilitate resetting under poor visibility conditions, or when it would be unsafe to divert the rider's attention from the road or other traffic, the push-buttons abut along a common line and have a shared recess straddling that line which can be located by feel alone, enabling the push-buttons to be depressed simultaneously with one thumb while both rider's hands safely grip the handlebar.

A signal detector for a cycle computer comprises a head, a sensor supported by the head, and a flexible strap having one end connected to the head. The head includes a housing having a curved abutment surface shaped to bear against the curved abutment surface of a support tube such as a leg of a bicycle fork or a rear stay tube. The head has a strap-guiding surface defining one wall of a strap-receiving passageway extending completely through the housing and tangent to the curved abutment surface. The passageway has a strap entrance portion adjacent the curved abutment surface and a strap exit portion remote from it. The strap has transverse teeth along the inside surface facing inwardly into the passageway when the strap extends through it. In the embodiment disclosed, the head is molded of plastics material and includes an integral pawl in the passageway. The pawl has a tooth which is elastically biased into locking engagement with the teeth on the strap which are in the form of ratchet surfaces enabling easy insertion of the strap and blocking withdrawal. The exit portion of the strap-receiving passageway is enlarged to receive a tool such as a screwdriver for disengaging the tooth on the pawl from the teeth on the strap to enable easy withdrawal of the strap.
