A collapsible cargo utility box for storing items is provided. The utility box comprises a housing having a front wall, a rear wall, and a pair of sidewalls forming an interior volume. An upper wall extends from the rear wall, wherein a lid is pivotally secured to the upper wall. A base forms the bottom section of the housing and is pivotally secured between the front wall and rear wall. The housing is movable between a collapsed configuration and an in-use configuration, wherein the in-use configuration the utility box can transport objects while secured within a bed of a truck and in the collapsed configuration the utility box is easily carried. A pair of cutouts are disposed on opposite sidewalls, wherein the cutouts receive the first or second sidewall in the collapsed configuration. A handle extends from the upper wall to allow for easy transport in the collapsed configuration.

A self-contained transportable life support system for resuscitation, stabilization, and transport of a patient has an environmentally controlled housing for receiving and supporting a patient and a plurality of medical devices disposed within the housing. A control circuit attached to the housing has at least a portion thereof extending to an external surface of the housing for regulating operation of the medical devices and environmental conditions of within the housing in response to monitored life support conditions of the patient.

Self contained transportable life support system

A high-velocity, accurately responsive impingement heater provides heated air at a substantially constant temperature to a process location to effect control of a process. The heater includes an air line for conducting air from an inlet thereof to the process location. A heat exchanger, including a plurality of electrical heating elements, heats air conducted through the air line. A power driver is connected to the heat exchanger and applies current to the heat exchanger. A controller is connected to the driver and receives a predetermined process temperature input from the user, as required for effecting control of the process. A process temperature sensor is positioned at the process location and measures the temperature of the air provided to the process location. The process temperature sensor provides a process temperature signal to the controller which is indicative of the air temperature at the process location. An internal temperature sensor is positioned immediately downstream from the heat exchanger and measures the temperature of the air at that location in the air line. The internal temperature sensor provides an internal temperature signal to the controller which is indicative of the air temperature downstream from the heat exchanger. Based upon the temperature signals from the temperature sensors, the controller provides a control signal to the driver for specifying the amount of heat required at the process location in order for the heated air to substantially equal the predetermined process temperature. The driver then applies a corresponding current to the heat exchanger in response to the control signal.

Self-contained transportable life support system

A transportable life support system for providing medical care to a patient while transporting the patient from one location to another has a platform configured to receive the patient, a plurality of medical devices attached to the platform for providing medical monitoring and medical therapy to the patient, and a control and display panel comprising controls and displays for the medical devices. The control and display panel provides a centralized location for monitoring and controlling the medical devices so as to mitigate a need for an operator to move about the platform in order to individually observe a display for each medical device and to individually control each medical device.

A portable compressed air heating system for delivering a flow of heated air directed at a substrate. The system first includes a hot air distribution member for placement in juxtaposition with the substrate and thereafter distributing heated air collected from a heater module. Second, the system includes a heater module for receiving and heating a continuous volume of air, and is equipped with an adjustable velocity production element for drawing and delivering heated air to the hot air distribution member. An interface conduit connects the heater module to a system controller disposed upstream therefrom, and includes circuitry directed by the controller for operation of the heating module. The system controller includes an air-in port for receiving air, an air-out port for distributing air, a heater-power conduit, a temperature controller, an air pressure monitor, and an air pressure adjuster.

Improved apparatus for dispensing tape of a thermoplastic matrix composite material onto a recipient surface comprising in combination support means for mounting a reel of tape; feed means for unwinding the tape from the reel and advancing it along a path of travel to the mandrel; a guillotine knife in the path of travel for cutting the tape at a predetermined angle with respect to the path of travel; a slotted, box-type pre-heater for the tape located in the path of travel following the knife for providing heat to the tape; a heated pressure roller located in the path of travel following the pre-heater for providing additional heat to the tape for effecting a process operating temperature and for applying the required pressure to the tape for lamination of the tape onto the recipient surface; cooling means located in the path of travel beyond the pressure roller for reducing the process heat from the laminated tape on the recipient surface and to smoothing it for thereby obtain the desired surface finish; and additional means operatively positioned with respect to the pressure roller, tape and recipient surface for placing an interference film between the pressure roller and the tape to prevent sticking of the tape to the pressure roller. Also disclosed is the method of operating such apparatus.
