A method for the optical three dimensional measurement of a tooth without calibration bodies. An optical projection system projects a pattern onto a tooth, and an optical imaging system images the pattern projected thereon, from a first position in space and subsequently from a second position in space, with the images from the two positions in space having a common imaged area of the tooth. The image patterns are evaluated to calculate three dimensional coordinate data of the tooth surface relative to the respective imaging position for each image and also for the two images combined, to produce a single three dimensional tooth surface data record. In this method, points and/or surfaces are selected from the common imaged area with the aid of properties of the tooth surface contour which are invariant under displacement and rotation, so that they can be clearly correlated with each other. The change in position between the first and second positions in space is determined with the aid of the selected points and/or surfaces and their relative coordinate data.

Tooth measurement without calbration bodies

An apparatus for sorting particles of a bulk material moving on a transport ribbon (38) comprises an electro optical monitoring unit (101) above transport ribbon (38) for detecting the particles to be sorted out. Jet nozzles (45, 46) are controlled by a signal emitted by this electro optical monitoring unit (40), the jet nozzles being provided at the side opposite the bulk material of transport ribbon (38), which consists of an air permeable material. By means of the gas jet passing through transport ribbon (38), the particles to be sorted out are lifted off from the transport ribbon and are thrown into storage containers (47, 48). The bulk material is passed through a gap between rollers or grinding elements to provide flake-shaped particles which are then observed to provide first and second measurements which are subtracted from each other. A vibrating conveyor 87 with feeding channels 87.1 separate particles for disposition upon a ribbon 538 with the aid of a jet nozzle n.

Individualizing service for sorting particles of a bulk material

3D tooth measurement by means of an optical probe wherein a prior matting treatment of the tooth to be measured can be dispensed with. The consequential reflection-dependent measuring errors are compensated by an error correction method.

An optical oral or mouth probe which is utilized for the three-dimensional measurement or surveying of teeth possesses a highly-resoluting two-dimensional point-by-point freely-programmable projection unit, which generates a digitalized projection pattern from a computer in accordance with a programmed mathematical or graphical method, deposits the pattern in an image storage and is then brought into display through addressing of an LCD matrix plate, and with the aid of a focusing optic is then projected onto the surface which is to be surveyed or measured.

Optical probe and method for the three-dimensional surveying of teeth

The invention relates to a method for optical measurement of objects, in particular teeth, with a projector, with beam path diverging from a projector central point, imaging on the object a pattern of different ranges of brightness, which pattern is imaged on the sensor surface of a camera, arranged in a certain disposition in space at a parallax angle to the projector, with a beam path converging in the direction of a camera central point, and is split up into image points, the light intensities of which are measured and stored, and from the light intensities of the image points the phase position of the latter is determined and stored. For the purpose of error-free measurement it is proposed that the position in space of the projector central point, of the camera central point and also of sensor elements of the sensor surface be calculated and stored, the pattern in the plane of projection be split up into image points, the position in space of the latter be calculated and stored, image points of equal phase position be correlated with each other and the position in space of straight lines through image points of equal phase position and the projector and camera central point and also the space coordinates of the points of intersection of these straight lines be calculated. The storage, correlation and calculation occur in a computer.

Method and apparatus for optical measurement of objects

For controlling the quality of the needles of a knitting machine a test image of each needle is acquired with the aid of an image sensor when the needle is moved out of its rest position for forming a stitch. The analog image signals obtained on reading out the image sensor are converted to digital pixel signals, and the digital pixel signals of the test image or of individual test zones of the test image are processed for recovering information on the state of the particular needle being imaged. By using a coarse resolution image sensor it is possible to detect major faults during the normal operation of the knitting machine at full working speed. Needles exhibiting wear and minor faults can be detected by using a high resolution image sensor during special inspection times in which the knitting machine is operated at reduced speed.

Method and arrangement for optical control of the needles of knitting

To scan the material being sewn (30, 31) in a sewing machine in an annular area around the presser foot, an annular lens system (25) is provided, which images a circle (33) concentrically surrounding the presser foot in the plane (A) of the material being sewn onto the light inlet ends of a likewise annularly arranged plurality of optical fibers (26). The optical fibers (26) lead, in an individual assignment, to the individual light-receiving elements of a photoelectric sensor line of a line camera, which sensor line can be read cyclically.
