The invention relates to a test apparatus for checking a battery control device or for checking a battery having at least one cell, comprising a battery simulator () for simulating a voltage of at least one cell of a simulated battery for specification on the battery control device, wherein the battery control device or the battery is connected to an evaluation module () via a rail designed as a central bus in order to process and check the voltage of a selected cell, wherein the selected cell of the battery simulator for the battery control device or the selected cell of the battery can be selected via a separation module (). In this way, a test apparatus for checking a battery control device or for checking a battery can be provided, which has a simple construction and can check all of the cells of a simulated or actual battery in a simple manner.

The invention relates to a safety device () for a contactor () connected between a secondary battery and an electrical power network, in particular of a motor vehicle that can be driven electrically, comprising at least one electronic evaluating unit (), which can be connected to at least one electrical component of the secondary battery by means of a communication connection (), and at least one safety switch (), which can be controlled by means of the electronic evaluating unit () and which can be arranged in an electrical control circuit () of the contactor (), wherein the electronic evaluating unit () is designed to receive at least one component-specific piece of actual information () from the electrical component via the communication connection (), to compare the received piece of actual information () with at least one piece of target information stored in the electronic evaluating unit (), and to control the safety switch () in dependence on a result of the comparison in such a way that the electronic evaluating unit closes the safety switch () if the piece of actual information () corresponds with the piece of target information and opens the safety switch () if the piece of actual information () does not correspond with the piece of target information.

Safety device for a battery contactor in an electric vehicle

An optical smoke detector for detecting particulates in an air sample. The detector includes a detection chamber defining an enclosure for the air sample. At least one opening is in fluid communication with the detection chamber whereby the air sample can be introduced and discharged from the detection chamber. A cleaning port defines a passageway to the detection chamber from a position external to the smoke detector and a resilient valve seals the cleaning port with a substantially air-tight seal. The valve member is accessible from a position external to the smoke detector. The valve member is openable, permitting passage of air through the cleaning port into the discharge chamber, by engaging the valve member with a nozzle, such as an air nozzle mounted on a canister of pressurized air.
