A therapeutic apparatus having an expanse of material that can be adjustably wrapped around a portion of a user's body and which is securable thereon. Various therapeutic components can be attached to the material expanse in numerous positions, such that when it is secured on the user, the components direct the therapy to the area of need. Therapeutic components may include for example, pressure-creating devices, hot and cold packs and rigid support pieces. One or more flexible straps, each having an attachment mechanism to allow direct attachment to the material expanse at a plurality of positions can also be provided.

Therapeutic belt

A moisture absorbing and impact protective material comprising a layer of impact protection material forming a gutter, a layer of absorbent material disposed adjacent to the impact protection material at least in part within the gutter, and a layer of moisture transport material disposed at least in part external to the impact protection material gutter and having an interface with the absorbent material. The moisture transport material wicks away moisture from a wearer and transports it to the absorbent material. Excess moisture accumulates in the gutter.

Protective and therapeutic body gear

A traction device having an adjustable tensioning mechanism, the traction device attachable to a head support and a cervical collar. The tensioning mechanism includes a traction base, a slider slidably connected to the traction base and an adjustment mechanism to force the traction base and slider in opposite directions. One of the traction base or slider is at a fixed longitudinal position with respect to the head support and the other of the traction base or slider is at a fixed longitudinal position with respect to the cervical collar.

Traction collar and method of use

A self applicable spring loaded pelvic traction device to be self applied by a patient, comprising an adjustable waist encircling belt member, a pair of right and left leg adjustable scored leg straps, each strap having one end secured to the side of the belt member and another and secured to the rear of the belt member, a foot bar, helical spring connected between the foot bar and the right and left adjustable straps for applying a counter thrust to the thrust of the legs of a patient requiring traction to extend the spring to apply the traction, a pair of inner and outer telescopic cylindrical tubes received over the helical spring, one of the tubes being secured to the top of the helical spring and the other of the telescopic tubes being secured to the foot bar, the inner cylindrical tube having calibration lines and numerals readable against the lower end of the outer telescopic cylindrical tube to indicate the pounds of traction pull exerted between the waist and feet of the patient, a traction post attachable to a bed frame variably positionable along the length or width of the bed to regulate the amount of traction to which the patient is subjected, foot pads pivoted on the foot bar, and an anchor connected to the foot bar between the foot pads and being received over the traction post to regulate the amount of traction to which the patient is subjected.

Self applicable spring loaded pelvic traction device

The present disclosure is directed to a spring loaded cervical traction collar having front and rear discrete body halves in which each body half is split in half horizontally to define upper and lower front parts and upper and lower rear parts. A plurality of traction spring units each having double ended plunger rods having a head on each free end, a pair of closed ended cylinders and a spring is located in each of the cylinders. The springs are between the heads and the closed ends of the cylinders. Each cylinder is secured in one of said body halves. The springs urge the vertically opposed body halves in which each traction spring unit is secured to provide traction and are circumferentially spaced about the front and rear body halves and secured thereto with the axes of their plunger rods being substantially parallel to one another. Mating Velcro straps connect the upper front body part to the lower front body part while additional mating Velcro straps connect the upper rear body part to the lower rear body part and the spring loading of each unit permits selection of variable thrust loading circumferentially about the neck of a patient to provide prescribed vertical traction thrust of the head of a patient.
