A simplified valve spool detent device including a sleeve attached to the valve body surrounding an extending portion of the valve spool, the sleeve including a plurality of radially spaced holes therein in a common plane with a plurality of balls positioned in the holes, a c-shaped spring positioned outside the sleeve in spring contact with the sleeve, the extending portion of the spool including a cylindrical surface passing through the plane of the balls including a circumferential lug means in the form of a hardened wire ring seated in a circumferential groove in said cylindrical surface.

Valve spool detent

A lockout valve in a hydraulic system which meters the flow thereacross in accordance with the actuation pressure applied. The lockout valve is positioned in a circuit between the motor supporting the load and the directional control valve blocking flow from the motor; the lockout includes a spring-biased poppet urged against a seat; the poppet is slidably positioned in a bore defining a servo chamber therebehind; spring means urging the poppet means closed against the seat, the poppet including a head portion with a face thereon which seals against the seat, the head portion having a larger diameter than the first bore whereby a closing area is provided on the poppet subject to load pressure urging the poppet closed; the poppet including a sensing passage connecting the face of the poppet with said first bore and a stem means on the poppet downstream of the face which provides a turning surface for the high speed jet of oil passing through the lockout and a servo plunger in the lockout downstream of the poppet sensing pressure and acting against the stem means and the flow of oil flowing past the poppet.

Metered lockout valve

A self-leveling series type hydraulic system including boom and bucket valves which separately control boom and bucket cylinders and a flow divider valve positioned in the exhaust flow path from the rod end of the boom cylinder. The flow divider valve splits the flow sending a portion of it to the cap end of the bucket cylinder so as to maintain the bucket in a level condition during raising of the boom with the remaining flow returning to the control valve downstream of the boom valve along with the return flow from the rod end of the bucket cylinder which is also returned to the control valve downstream of the boom valve whereby the bucket valve can be separately actuated concurrent with the boom valve and supplied with oil so as to override the self-leveling function if desired.

Series self-leveling valve

A sequencing valve utilized with a tractor-propelled planter having two row arms which pivot downward to the ground in an alternating sequence as the planter changes directions in the field. The sequencing valve is connected with the conventional hydraulic system which raises and lowers the planter at the end of each row so as to automatically lower alternate marker arms. This is achieved by pressurizing opposite ends of the sequencing valve spool for longitudinal movement through a cam means, causing the spool to rotate during movement in one direction whereby alternating lowering of the planter arms is achieved each time the planter is hydraulically lowered to the ground.

Marker control valve

A self-leveling series type hydraulic system including boom and bucket valves which separately control boom and bucket cylinders and a flow divider valve positioned in the exhaust flow path from the rod end of the boom cylinder. The flow divider valve splits the flow sending a portion of it to the cap end of the bucket cylinder so as to maintain the bucket in a level condition during raising of the boom with the remaining flow connected to one of the boom valve motor ports whereby the bucket valve can be separately actuated concurrent with the boom valve and supplied with oil so as to override the self-leveling function if desired.
