A composite infrared target simulation display system for field testing of infrared (IR) search and track, guidance and general sensory systems. The system includes one or more tileable emitter arrays scalable without systemic size limitation. The emitter arrays are square faced tiles housing power and control electronics to autonomously display a stored infrared test image according to parameters distributed by a control host and a timing signal. A face of the emitter array is divided into regularly spaced pixel positions, each made up of multiple IR emitters operating in differing regions of the IR band to display an image. Multiple emitter array tiles are joined to form a complete system. Each emitter of each pixel position is individually addressable to be individually controllable with respect to emittance state for displaying an image. Multiple images may be sequentially displayed to replicate a simulated target signature in motion.

Multispectral infrared simulation target array

A real-time, multi-sensor local-area lightning detection network system. The system uses waveform indicative of electrostatic field changes with respect to time is generated at each of N locations due to a cloud-to-ground lightning strike occurring in the vicinity of the N locations. Each waveform is integrated to generate a corresponding electric field associated with a corresponding one of the locations. A mathematical relationship is used to determine a ground surface location of the lightning strike, height of the lightning strike, and charge per unit length of the lightning strike using each electric field generated during integration of the waveforms.

Method and system for determining cloud-to-ground lightning information

An electromagnetic pulse delivery system for delivering a sufficient amount of energy and waveform to induce a current in target electronic components that disrupt or damage those target electronic components and overwhelm any protective circuitry. The system includes a power source in communication with a capacitive discharge system capable of producing an electromagnetic pulse. A mechanical interface including a supply contact in communication with the capacitive discharge system and a return contact in communication with a path to earth ground is provided to deliver the electromagnetic pulse to the target object. Physical contact between the mechanical interface and the object closes a switch disposed between the capacitive discharge system and the supply contact for discharging the pulse into the target object.

Electromagnetic pulse generator

A programmable transformer incorporating windings embedded in a thin film substrate. The windings are flat wire traces embedded into the substrate, primary on one side and secondary on the other. The secondary windings may be planar or different coils spatially arrayed throughout a thickness of the substrate. The secondary winding may include multiple tap points, effectively providing multiple secondary coils referenced to the single primary coil. Each tap point is bridged to a field effect or CMOS transistor path by which a digital controls permit dynamic adjustment of the turns ratio. The final secondary output depends on the activated transistor paths. Multiple secondary outputs from a single secondary coil and a digitally programmable turns ratio are available aspects.
